3 rallies for the entire tournament then? :-(

I swear in the last few years he has become even more of a dull 1 dimensional serve volleyer. I used to quite enjoy watching him play.

Nadal has withdrawn....

The two Andy's in the top half of the draw now have their best chance to win this tournament. Well, Roddick would have won in '04 without the rain delay but still.

They didn't make Del Potro number one seed, but they had to shuffle parts of the draw due to Nadal's withdrawal. Del Potro took Nadal's spot, Blake took Del Potro's spot, Kiefer took Blake's spot, and a lucky loser (lost in last round of qualifying) took Kiefer's spot.

They make it very confusing.

I can't see Murray winning Wimbledon as long as Federer is still in the draw. He'd have to play the game of his life (and then some) to beat Federer at Wimbledon. Is it possible that Murray and Federer could meet in the Final?

I'm almost positive that they're in seperate draws so they could potentially compete against each other in the final.

Each year Andy is getting stronger. I think it is possible Andy and Federer will meet in the final. I wouldn't like to bet on who is to win, that's for sure. They are both amazing players.

Is it possible that Murray and Federer could meet in the Final?I think Murray has a chance against Federer but it's not that likely. Murray's best chance to win a slam will always be at the US Open. Wimbledon plays much too slow now and Murray's best surface is a fast hard court.

I'm glad they put Federer's match first on Centre Court tomorrow since Nadal can't occupy the traditional spot for defending Men's champion.

Very true. Great analysis.

I remember seeing Murray vs. Nadal in the 2008 US Open Semi-Final and the pace of the court seemed to suit his game very well. Murray played incredibly well that day but whether he can adapt that sort of fast game he enjoys for grass, with so much expectation, remains to be seen. Hats off to him if he can! Should be a great few weeks.

I don't. Andy Murray's game is pretty good for facing Roddick and has the upper hand on him. Either way, Roddick would get beaten by Fed as he has on pretty much every other occasion they have played if they did make the final so I would rather it be someone else (read Murray haha).

Posted this on another forum... :)

So myself and my mate from Uni left my house at about 6am (sigh) and met an old school friend of mine at Reading station at 6.20am. We went via Clapham Junction at got to Wimbledon station at about 8.15am. There was a Scottish bloke in our taxi who was quite chatty and alright. He said he worked for IBM doing stats/computer stuff for the tournament which was pretty cool. He said he got to watch a lot of the tennis himself as well which was cool. Now on to the subject of talking to strangers whilst on the way to Wimbledon, I am all for this unless they are a fucking annoying twat. Which the guy in front of us in the queue was. He would not shut up talking to us complaining of queuing/organising/everything. When we got offered stickers the guy asked the steward why they had this "futile" tradition of giving out stickers. The guy was a nightmare, and kept sitting awkwardly close to my friends and I as we buried our noses in our programmes ignoring him pretending to read! Thankfully we managed to hang back by a few people and lose him after a while! We only queued for 3-4 hours and got to the bridge at about 12.45am. Great timing!

We also took the liberty to take a picture of Bogdanovic's name on the draw haha. My friend and I were basically making Bogdanovic jokes all the way there to everyone's pleasure! :-d

http://photos-e.ak.fbcdn.net/hphotos-ak-snc1/hs093.snc1/5129_218699995203_511165203_7465748 _2003787_n.jpg

So we got in, had a wonder for 15-20 minutes and then went to watch a bit of Garcia-Lopez and Calleri. Garcia-Lopez won the first two sets and we moved on to get some food and wonder about for a bit again.

http://photos-f.ak.fbcdn.net/hphotos-ak-snc1/hs093.snc1/5129_218700000203_511165203_7465749 _3502143_n.jpg

We then carried on wondering and watched a few games of Ji Zheng on court 7 and James Blake on court 3. We joined Blake-Seppi at the time-break and Blake was 5-1 up but completely flunked it and lose 7-5! Seemed to be a good atmosphere out there with a lot of people shouting for both players. Court 7 was really nice, I never noticed the bit of lawn behind the seats. There was a lot of people lying watching the match there. Zheng is also really loud in real life!

http://photos-b.ak.fbcdn.net/hphotos-ak-snc1/hs093.snc1/5129_218700020203_511165203_7465753 _7792216_n.jpg

And then the highlight of the day imo, we sat on court 17 to watch Dominica Cibulkovaaaaaa. *swoons* We joined it just before she won the firsst set. Very decent match from then on and it looked like Cibulkova wouldn't hold on in the end! Pretty sure it was her Dad or something right behind us ashe wasclapping and shouting at her after every point! I of course rushed towards the chairs as it finished and as I stood completely paralysed unable to talk drooling over her immense fitness I realised as she was scrawling on my programme my pen did not work! She looked at me and simply said "oh it's not working" then carried on signing autographs and rushed off! :-( My friends of course found this all very amusing.

LOOK HOW CLOSE I WAS IN THE LAST ONE!

I then convinced my friends to stay and watch the infamous Michelle Larcher De Brito! Tbh, she is louder than most but she was about 2% as loud as people made her out to be in real life. She did up the decibels a bit in longer rallies though. She absolutely blew Zakapalova off the court. You would think Zakapolova was the teenager. Her return of serve was fantastic and put her in control of point instantly. Her power and precision of shots was way toomuch for Zakapolova. I was really pleased to see De Brito. I think she could be a top tenner in no time. I am quite a fan of hers after seeing her yesterday now. A mate was close to getting her autograph but there were too many stewards and like always they sheaperded her away as if she was about to be shot on her way out. Zakapolova looked beaten and had a face like a smacked arse for the entire match. She was moaping about the near us with a long face as if she would rather be anywhere else in the world. The people behind me sounded like right tennis buffs! Don't suppose it was anyone from here or MTF? Hahaha.

My mate then wanted to watch Cillic in the evening which was an quality match despite only being a 3 setter. Cillic looks huuuuuuge in real life and some of the shots and rallies both men were pulling off were awesome. Watching a huge guy like Cillic is so much better in real life. He moves so well and hits the ball so hard as well. It's so beautiful to watch in real life. Seriously watch him if you are going this week.

DUDE! Where were you? I was in about the second row sitting opposite Cilic's camp about 3 or 4 feet to the left of the net as we looked at it.

Also, how amazing was Cilic V Querrey? Kind of feel bad for Querrey, it's the sort of match where you don't want a loser. Cannot believe people were complaining about two of the sports best young talents being on CC. Excuse them for putting a match which will be competitive on CC in the first week.

Fantastic match, and I completely agree with the other two points so can't add much.

Supporting Federer. Seems to be in such good form. Love watching him play.

Agree with this too, kind of like Schumacher, watching him dominate is so impressive. Btw, grats on the new album!

Hewitt was fantastic today, Del Potro didn't attack his second serve enough but outside that didn't play too bad, Hewitt was just top drawer. His serve was wonderful.

Murray has a tough match, Gulbis hasn't progressed as much as he should but is really talented.

Looking forward to Roddick/Hewitt tomorrow. The women's game is terrible right now. Ivanovic was arguably the worst #1 player ever and Safina is a close second.

Anyway, the quarters should be fantastic and hopefully the chalk prevails so that we'll get two incredible semifinal matchups.

I think we all know Murray is the only guy who really has a chance against Fed, but I'd like to see Roddick make it to the finals.I was hoping Roddick would beat Murray even though Murray is more likely to give Federer a run. It's just tougher for Roddick to win sets against Federer because he usually needs to get them by winning breakers whereas Murray can put a 6-4 on the board.

This will be a tough final to watch though since it would be awesome to Roddick redeem himself for that '04 final which he would've won without the rain delay. I also want to see Federer get 15 though. All I can say is Sampras better be there. He really doesn't have any excuse now since Federer's playing an American while going for the record.

Quick Tennis question (don't know a lot about it), is the final match a best of 7 sets or 5?

5 sets in the slams

I want this for Andy so bad. There's no denying Federer's going to get 15 (and probably 16-18) before he's done, but this may be Andy's last chance.

I'm so glad I decided to turn this match on. Not the biggest tennis fan in the world, but it's matches like this that make you really appreciate what these players can do.
