In my opinion this is a highly underrated record. Their most recognized release is "Something to Write Home About" which is also a classic album, however I've always felt that "On a Wire" was greatly underappreciated. Songs like "Campfire Kansas" and "High as the Moon" were what first gave me an appreciation for music outside the immediate pop punk genre. I don't know how anyone else feels about this record but I always thought it never got the recognition it deserved.

I never really cared for this album but love everything else The Get Up Kids have done. I like Campfire Kansas and Grunge Pig though.

On a Wire is my favorite Get Up Kids album - I managed to pick it up in my local record store for £2 a while back

If it had been a debut album from a completely different band I would have liked it a little more. But as a Get Up Kids album it'll always be my least-favorite. Not because I hate bands changing...I just don't think most if it was worth the change. Overdue, Stay Gone and Campfire Kansas and the title track are great songs though.

I'd say either this or Guilt Show is their best. what a great band

i love this album. but it was also the first record i ever heard by TGUK. i was only 11 when Something To Write Home About was released so i obviously missed the buzz over that record. this one came out when i was in high school and it was very easy for me to connect with at the time. it's still one of my favorites.

Good album, although it's my least favorite.

IMO, STWHA > FMM > Guilt Shot > On A Wire

Second to worst, worst being guilt, best being four minute

couldn't agree more. They started with gold and worked their way down to bronze.

haha sorry man. I think they're a great, great band, but I think those two are their best. actually throw STWHA in there too because FMM doesn't have much going for it outside of nostalgic value

:wallbash: Four Minute Mile is a damn near perfect record, one of my top 5 ever. I guess we're gonna just have to agree to disagree. For me each next album with the Get Up Kids got a tad weaker than the one that came before it.....and I say this as a fan that grew up with band.

ah yeah that's definetly understandable. I got into them with Guilt Show about two years ago, then got their other three. I feel with most bands I love, my favorite record is always the one I'm exposed to the band with (in this case, Guilt Show). I think we can just agree that The Get Up Kids are awesome :-)
