I don't know about this war. At one level, I don't think the war will help anything, and at another, I think we need to get Saddam out of Iraq, but then again, it really isn't our business. i don't know. I'm pretty confused about the whole thing.

i think that at a certain level it is important for us to go in to iraq and get husssein out of there, but more than anything we need to un's support to do that. without their support we are turning ourselves into a huge terrorist target for the future. and if this starts something even bigger, if we had the un's support once again i'd feel a lot more safe and for everyone invovled it would be a smarter idea.

It wouldn't have mattered how much support we had in the UN, no matter what France was going to veto it, they stand to gain to much with keeping the dictator suddam in power.

I totally agree with you, the UN was set up so countries like the US wouldn't be able to go to war unless they had aproval and if countries on the security council veto the motion fo a country to go to war then they shouldn't go to war. If the US wasnt going to listen to the UN they shouldn't have joined and France wasn't the only country going to veto, Russia and China were too, every wondered why they were going to veto? maybe theres no reason for this stupid war, its all abou the oil

EVERY WONDER WHY THEY WERE GOING TO VETO?

1, Iraq is frances 4 biggest trading partner.

2, Russias still pissed about not being a world power any more, and for them to go against us when we are trying to protect our own country is so hypocritical. ie chechnya.

3, China, your acting like this country has some moral ground, that there against this because there worried about iraq lives, BULLSHIT, do you even no what they do to there own people, CAN YOU SAY OPPRESSIVE DICTATOR.

IF THEY DIDN"T WANT TO LISTEN TO THE UN THEY SHOULDN"T HAVE JOINED.

The people that put us in the un are nolonger in charge, so that point of view has no merit. And we should get out of the UN, it has no purpose, no ability to act, its a joke. Just look at some of the countries that have power with in it, SYRIA, LYBIA, both terroristic states that have power.

the UN Security Council was set up to enforce the resolutions of the UN. if countries have no intention of enforcing their own rules, they shouldn't join the UN. if they didn't want to enforce resolution 1441, then they shouldn't have voted UNANIMOUSLY to support it. (15-0)
