Bill O'Reilly said a few minutes ago that war protesters have every right to stand up for their beliefs about the war, AS LONG as they don't break the law to do it.
The more these fucking hippies continue to distract law enforcement officials away from protecting us, the easier it will be for people to attack us.
Sone Poindexter jackass was actually believing himself while saying that war protesters have the right to do what they're doing. Meaning breaking the law.
What are your feelings on the subject?
I think these people, not all, but the ones that continue to be aggressive in their attempts to prove they're against war, should be punished. It is noone's right to stop traffic with their bullshit. I don't think my boss treats me fairly, but I'm not in the middle of Camelback and 16th street's intersection with a sign telling everyone.
There are ways to go about standing up for your beliefs, and these people are totally out of line...

It is so dumb when people go out and block bridges and streets and say it's part of their right to assemble. People can assemble, but that does not make them immune to the laws. They still can't disturb the peace of break windows etc.
yea people who do stupid things like that make antiwar people look like they are just a bunch of ignorant kids jumping on the bandwagon of hating bush. i think its stupid how i hear people referring to antiwar people as hippies though...kinda stereotypical

Indeed. Earlier I made a thread about this. It is really ridicolous, these protesters. Calling Bush evil, who is more evil; a man who intends to liberate an oppressed nation, or a dictator who kills his own innocent people?
A war protest took place today (see thread "today in hudson high school...") at my school. In it, both groups, pro-conflict and anti-war left the school at noon. I left as well. Us pro-warrers were organized, we had signs, posters and all that shit. They fucking sat down in a parking lot.
Eventually fights broke out. In everyone, the pro-war kids won lol.
Those kids dont have a fucking clue out there.
"Bush is the Devil", fuck that.
you gotta remember that not all antiwar kids are dumb like that though. in the protests ive been to here usually its the other way around, with the prowar kids all wanting to "nuke the indians" as they said.

true. with me, there were a number of dumbass pro-warrers. one kid made a sign that was a tracing of iraq, colored in blue with the words "The 6 Great Lake : Lake Dead Towelhead" and another had a "Kill All the Sand ******s" poster. Those fucking kids made us look really violent and dumb.
heh on a side note, being a fellow member of the "nofx in the screenname" club, what do you think of the whole political thing that nofx(even tho its mainly mike) is startin?

lol, nofx in the screenname club lol.
well, it really is only mike that seems to care. mel doesnt care. aaron or "hefe" doesnt care really. and eric doesnt even talk.
it is odd. most of their 90s CDs really werent that focused on politics, just corparate issues, and now with bush, they just seem to have understood what politics are. now they are making the new "War On Errorism" CD and it is devoted to anti-Bush.
they arent hippies though, you wont see them protesting.
i dont agree with all they say, but they still kick fucking ass.

Yeah I just saw that show like a half hour ago. Bill O'Reilly is the man. He reamed on that liberal professor like there's no tomorrow. Like he said, the police have better things to do than punish some yay-hoos in the street. Did you seem him just chew out that other liberal professor from Brown who though Colin Powell should resign? Man it was good. Did anyone catch the part of the show where he announced all of the bias networks on TV who were anti-war. I missed it, but it looked good.

People have the right to assemble peacefully. I don't think anybody is disputing that. When it turns violent, the protest loses all credablity. I've left many a portest because i didn't want to be assosiated with a bunch of violent fuckers.

I love Bill, if only for the fact that he is NOT afraid to put a jackass liberal in his place.
That poindexter professor was trying to convince Bill that it is the right of the war protesters to stop traffic, and divert the attention of law enforcment from what it needs to be focused on. That's a breahc of civil obediance, and they should be punished.
They are selfish, and care nothing of their country.

What do these folks have in common? They protested injustices with civil disobedeince. Are you saying those people were selfish or evil? I f so you are sadly misguided.

Did they forcefully distract the law enforcement officers in charge of keeping us safe during a WAR, to get their voices heard? No, they didn't.
As I have said, there are ways to get your point across. Ways much better then holding up traffic in a large city that could very well be a target for terrorist attack. Those people could be putting more people at risk, then would be if they would just stop and think for a minute.
I also never stated that they were evil. Do not quote me, and then put words you don't even see. I said they care nothing for their country. They don't. I didn't want a war, but I know that my voice will not change anything. Noone cares enough to listen and really DO something. So, at this time of WAR, I am supporting my country and my president. So what if he's wrong in his doings. He's doing what he thinks is best. And that, my friend, is very honorable.
What would you be doing?

And I consider you a smart man. Protest. Fine. But when you start to become a public pain in the ass when you block traffic, you cross the line. I applaud you

These people in DC and Chicago and wherever can protest as much as they want, but it's not going to change anything. The majority of Americans favor the war, so this really proves nothing.
I just hope that the people who are protesting the war are not just doing it because they oppose Bush. As Bill O'Reilly said last night, it's atrocious when Tom Daschle and people like this are playing politics at a time when lives are at stake.

Honestly that is the saddest thing I've ever heard. People are just giving up on hope.... peace...
If your going to support the war ebcause you support it, than do so. But dont give up and cop-out than preach to me about what a it means to be american.

the majority of americans favor the war? let me tell you something from my standpoint which i know you don't care to hear. the protesters who aren't ignorant kids understand that bush doesn't listen to what protesters have to say. you think they don't realize that? they know they aren't going to affect the administration. they're doing it to exercise their first amendment right, because too many people take it for granted in america. the army is fighting to set up a democratic nation in iraq so they too can stop living under an oppressive government and have the same rights as us. doubtful that it will actually happen. anyways, some of the largest antiwar protests in the history of this country are taking place right now, but according to you, the majority support it. whatever.

How many of those people are fighting in it.
This brought a point home to me: The local radio DJ extolling the war. He is sitting his fat ass in a recording studio while people ie for his cause. Other war supporters include kids here, old politicians, and company execs. In my opinion, if you push for war, your opinion should only count if you are enlisted.

by the same token you could say those who support and protest for peace owe that freedom to those who fought, killed, and died for it, and if you haven't fought, killed or died you haven't earned that right.

okay so its fox news. i'm not saying that you're wrong, but that is not a complete demographic look at the population of america. especially if it is one of those "log on to foxnews.com right now and tell us what you think of war" things because you know what, not everyone is watching. not everyone goes online and voices their opinion. in reality there is no real way to get the true demographic of this country to give their opinion on war unless you personally ask everyone.
but before you reply, in your head, i'm wrong already.

it was an independent poll, it wasn't a foxnew.com interactive poll. its a legitimate poll, i understand that fox news is viewed as right wing , but the poll is independent.

okay. but you have to admit, these are some of the largest protests this country has seen. and they're not all antiwar. especially in a republican dominated city like san diego. just an observation. i love the united states of america.

oh, i never said you didn't love your country, or that you shouldn't protest the war if disagree with it. but just because the anti war people make the biggest scene doesn't mean they're in the majority. and even the pro war protesters should act responsibly and realize that they are drawing resources from law enforcement that should be concentrating on the orange alert rather than babysitting a bunch of protesters.

my i love us wasn't in response to what you said. i just added that for kicks because i think it's ironic that we're the united states. i agree that protesters protesting for peace shouldn't start violence. maybe then we wouldn't need all the police to enforce them. be peaceful, march, hold signs, but don't do anything stupid.

These protests are actually some of the smallest the USA has ever seen, 200 to 300 people (all except SF which is big i'll give you that but i would not call it extremly large, and we all must no what kind of nuts hang out in the SF area, and that there also causing massive amounts of distruction i nthat city) is not large, and most of them are in cities with a million or more people.
the march on washington in the 60's was 500,000 people, the million man march was 200,000..................these are large protest, the ones you see today do not compare to those or others the USA has seen before.

the problem as i see it with many of these protesters is that they alienate the people whom they want to address. every person that has to sit in traffic, or has eggs thrown at their car or whatever, is going to be less likely to hear what you have to say. if you want to make your point to the public, don't allienate the public and act like jerks. why don't the protesters do some good, have a concert, or dance, or car wash or something that helps people out? that would make them more likely to listen to what you have to say.

I just have one comment to make. Police officers are paid a salary, by taxpayers. They have to be paid to patroll those streets because of the damn liberal dumbfucks blocking the street. Who pays taxes? Not them. Its your average non-protesting, works for their money person. These guys down there are all on welfare (not all, but a high percentage) and they dont pay taxes. Still its a waste of our tax money no matter who pays it. Get the fuck off of the streets, you arent going to change anything 60-70% of America is in favor of the war.

These protesters really bug me. They assume that their freedom of assembly gives them immunity to the law. That's simply no true. They're all out there with their upside down American flags partying and being trendy, because it's cool among their crowd to be a rebel. I was watching one of these protests on TV recently, and it dawn upon me just how stupid these people are. They are hurt their own point with their immature behavior. Most of the people don't even know what they're talking about. I can respect an anti-war person with semi-logical, thought out arguments, but these people just hate Bush and will do anything that is supossed to hurt him. I really wish I could just go in there with a Hummer and plow those people...

Ya, I was just on another board talking about it and one of them posted some comments from some college protestors. They had no clue what was going on, and many even admitted to protesting just to cut class. Send them as the first ones into Baghdad, that way they can gain intel and we don't really lose anything if they are ambushed.
