Carbon Copy Media (http://www.myspace.com/carboncopymedia), JT of Hawthorne Heights (http://www.hawthorneheights.com)' label, has announced the signing of Appleton, WI's IVORY (http://www.purevolume.com/ivory). Expect another signing tomorrow - it'll probably make your day a little brighter, if you know what I mean. Below is the press release:
Carbon Copy Media would like to welcome IVORY to their roster. IVORY's sound falls somewhere between heavy hitters like Coldplay and U2, but still has the honesty of Copeland and Death Cab For Cutie. This band has big goals and bigger melodies. Be on the lookout for their CCM debut in the fall. Did I mention that Ivory has a piano?

The way Hawthorne Heights seems to be viewed by some, perhaps "Carbon Copy Media" wasn't the greatest name for a label started by JT.

There is no way in hell it's Brighten.

I know what irony is, thank you very much. But honestly, it's not like this dude JT realizes the irony of it; that's what I was saying.

Ivory is amazing, they always have been.
Now they're just gonna get great exposure.
But I don't hear the U2 & Coldplay thing.
They sound like Number One Fan & I guess Copeland.

Okay. Personally, I wouldn't sign with a label that was owned by someone who was currently in an up and coming band. Right now, Hawthorne Heights is going to be this guy's main priority, not his label, and in turn, not the bands on his label. Unless the guys at Victory are going to be running the show for Carbon Copy...then I guess these bands might be in okay hands. I mean, this IVORY band is good enough that I think they could get picked up by someone else. Maybe a label with a little more experience. Umm, the only exceptions, I'd say, are labels like Nitro or Fueled By Ramen (and/or similar labels). In their case, the respective owners are pretty much set as far as their music careers go, and income. Both The Offspring and Less Than Jake have probably done enough both musically and financially that they're comfortable taking on new projects, and they can devote the neccessary time to them. Just my opinion I guess.

Ivory's a great band, simply put. their ep is pretty incredible, especially since the guys are on 18-21 in age.

i think its okay to ask if anyone could send me some more of their music other than whats on the ep. since they dont have anything on their sites.
