The olympics are great, I can't believe no one's reason talkin about em... maybe when they actually arrive. Anyway I thnk the US will do alright in Hockey, probably a Bronze medal. Russia and Canada play for the gold.

theyll be lucky to get a medal
The US has no chance at a medal if Rick Dipietro is the goaltender. But I think he will play the first game, let up like three soft goals, get pulled for the rest of the tournament, and john grahame can possibly bring the US to a medal.

3am, 8am, and 1pm are the times for Curling normally. I'll be watching the 8 and 1 showings, but fuck staying up til 3 to watch.
The finals come on thursdays and fridays at noon I believe, which works for me.

I doubt that will happen this year without the home field advantage that usually boosts medal counts by a lot. Not that it affects performance, but there was a lot more buzz around the Salt Lake games than there are for these ones, being that it was the first Olympics after 9/11 and the U.S. had a great team. I for one am not as excited this time around, i was really pumped in 2002, this year I've barely heard anyone mention them.

the womens hockey in the olympics should probably be limited to 4 teams, usa, canada, russia, sweeden. I'm sorry and i don't care if it's the olympics and you're hosting them (i'm looking at you italy) If you can't field a competitive team that can keep a game within two touchdowns and two extra points, you may want to re-evaluate why you've assembled a team to begin with.

Miller and Rahwles had bad technique on their downhill runs. They both stood up way too much. I can't believe the commentators were saying "I don't know what he's doing wrong/why he's so far behind." I mean let's face it, other than any noticeable goofs in your run, the main factor in making it to the bottom of the hill is your speed and how aerodynamic you are. And both skiers were standing up a lot in their runs. There's your problem mr. expert commentator.
Oh well, they're in other events as well.

that, I am well aware of, but if you've ever tried doing anything physical after a night of drinking, you know that your muscles tire very quickly, hence why he couldn't stay tucked for the last parts.

On another note, the US Women lose 11-6 to Norway in their opening curling match. Poor shooting and weight choices plagued them in the last 5 ends...not a good start. But, there are still 2 weeks left

Kildow crashed in training, looks like she will still compete, but after 4 crashes among racers, including a Candadian torn ligament, i guess the course wasn't "too easy" after all

Ya thats a good question. In the past they have lots of difficulty playing as a "team." It's said that the players are bitter at each and just care about there individual stats in the NHL and it supposedly a way amongst the players on that team. There gonna need terrific goaltending from Nabokov and unselfish play from there forwards if they wanna do any damage.

short track speed skating is definitely one of my favorite Olympic sports, that relay was entertaining, those exchanges are crazy. I remember when the U.S. team fell in the final in 2002. Maybe they can win the gold this time around. For all the hype, Apollo Ohno only has one gold medal, i hope he can pick up a few more.

Apolo's gold was sicko, especially since he had to charge to make it in the semis, which was impressive too
I'll remember Bode choking...and the snowboarder in Snow-X, i forget her name. And the US Women's curling team beign terrible overall, even though they had the potential.
Also, if anyone watched Aerials, that guy doing the quintuple twisting triple backflip "THe Hurricane" was sicko, even though he didn't land really cleanly.
Finally, I'll probably forget that we did the best ever in a non-US Olympics, and yet still seemed unimpressive because the TV coverage focused on certain individuals, and not on the team as much.
