better yet, he hates to travel and is usually in bed by 9pm. so it'll be cranky kornheiser on monday night football.

and there's few things i enjoy more than a cranky tony kornheiser.

yeah, if they went for a younger crew (kornheiser is in his late 40's early 50's) it could have that longstanding qualtiy 10-15 years down the road

obviously none of you have any exposure to kornheiser outside of PTI

this dude is awful.

he's not the play by play guy. he's there largely for entertainment purposes i'm sure, which he's very good at it. his radio show is just as good as PTI ..it's his columns that arent very good.

bigleague9

his columns used to be good until like a year ago when he stopped writing for about 4 months and then returned with two paragraph columns

As someone who reads his book (the one with his old columns) while in the library (i.e. the shitter), I'll disagree.

I enjoyed how ridiculous those telecasts were as well.
This is awesome, I have a reason to watch Monday Night Football again.

Joe Thiessman is such a biased idiot. I'm pissed off that I'm going to have to hear him speak every Monday Night. That alone is almost enough to keep me from watching. For a superstar quarterback, he brings next to nothing to the broadcasting table. If I could sign a petition against him I would.

awesome...he has to be better then Dennis Miller...hahaha

so have you not watched Sunday Night Football this millenium? If thats the case, just flip-flip and watch those telecasts instead this year and it won't be any different. Problem solved.

But dude, it's Monday Night Football. That's pretty much required watching for any football fan. Sure, I've watched Sunday Night Football, but it's not the same because if you're watching games all day Sunday, you don't really feel like tuning in unless there's a really good matchup, which didn't happen often this year.

Besides, how many people do you know who call up their buddies to come over and watch Sunday Night Football? Monday's where it's at.

My biggest problem is Kornheiser is he's just an entertainer, he usually shows no knowledge in sports. If you've ever read his articles, they're a joke.

Great choice. Hopefully they do the split-screen on PTI instead of having a fill-in every Monday. That'd suck.

i think pti will just be done from whatever city mnf is in. i'm pretty sure that's what i heard. just meaning wilbon would travel with him and they'd do it on location. if not that, definitely split screen. he's still gonna do pti full time as far as i know.

dennis miller was just an entertainer. kornheiser is basically there for the same role, but at least he has sports in his background. that'll make it easier for him to be entertaining in the flow of the game as opposed to miller who would need to drift off topic for his stuff to work.

i'm really not sure what he's gonna be able to bring to the table, but it should be interesting to hear him and theisman together.

i have my doubts, but i think it's a good move. i'm excited.

That doesn't make any sense because Wilbon, unlike Tony, still writes for the Washington Post full-time. He probably doesn't have enough time to travel with Tony for no reason. I hope it's split screen though. It sucks when they have someone like Dan Lebetard fill in for one of them.

from espn.com:

"In addition, Kornheiser and Michael Wilbon will take Pardon The Interruption on the road on Mondays during the football season. The shows will air from the site of ESPN's Monday Night Football games."

it doesn't make any sense, but i was pretty sure i didn't make that up.

I didn't read the article, I just heard about it from one of my friends. That's messed up, but I guess it's cool. Hopefully they do it in front of a bunch of fans like Cold Pizza does when they visit colleges.

He can write about MNF for the post so they dont have to send another writer to do it--no harm no foul
