Traveled to New York for this show last night and it was such a good time. The show was a benefit show for Toby's son's school and it was a ton of fun, everyone just seemed to be having a great time.
The opening band was a group called Turn it Up, there weren't many people watching them but they were decent, not the most original band but they were fun to watch and a few songs were really catchy. They covered Waiting Room by Fugazi so that was kind of cool.
Cruel Hand was next and as usual are really fun to see live, they know how to get a crowd moving and have a lot of energy. Definitely one of the better hardcore bands around right now, can't wait to see them next time. They played all new songs but it was still a lot of fun, here is their set (missing a couple):
Motions That Lie
Hounds
Life in Shambles
Begin Descension
Damaged Goods
Prying Eyes
House Arrest
Above and Below
Dead Weight
Stigma was cool, I didn't know any of their songs but they were a lot of fun to watch. I do know they ended with Crucified by Agnostic Front so that was cool.
H2O was unbelievable, I have seen them before but this time was really crazy, seeing them in such a small place with now rules was a ton of fun. They played pretty much all of the songs I wanted to hear, and all of the crowd was really into it. They had several guest performances throughout their set that was really cool including Freddy Madball, Vinny Stigma and the dude from Sick of it All, plus Toby's kid was on stage pretty much the whole time having an awesome time, he was really funny to watch and he would come on and start all of the songs off of Nothing to Prove (the ones with his samples) which was cool, i know im missing a couple songs but here is the set from what I remember (not in order at all):
Sunday
Faster Than The World
One Life One Chance
Guilty by Association (Freddy Madball appearance)
5 Year Plan
Here Today
Family Tree
Thicker Than Water
Everready
Its My Life (cover with Vinny Stigma)
1995
Nothing To Prove
Still Here
Fairweather Friend
What Happened (dude from sick of it all guest appearance)
Also the band Hazen street made a special appearance and played a set after H2O which was really awesome, Toby and Freddy were the vocalists, I didn't know any of the songs but they were really good and easy to sing along to. Apparently they are making a new album so I will be sure to check them out.
Sucks that H2O wont be touring for a while but I will make it out to any show that they do in the US.
