Interesting how quickly opinions can change.

Going off what my friend and user bit said before,

I personally cannot stand how quickly people on this site have turned on Panic once they became bigger (some would argue overexposed) and no longer "their" band, but also the band of thousands of pre-teens/TRL watchers across America. I anticipated Panic's cd before it came out, and once it did I immediately loved it, along with thousands of people who use this site. You could not enter a thread without some mention of Panic in one way or the other by readers of the board.

Just as an example, I would like to look into one comment that has been made so far on this thread. Numerous more examples of this could be founf all over the site but its hard to go through the thousands of posts some people have on this site. In no means am I singling out this user, but he just provided me with a perfect example of such a hypocritical action.

Panic lost, finally.
hmm. It would seems Mister matddors really despises this band, right? He is so happy to have Panic out of the contest.

But wait a minute.

hmm interesting how it's 'good for them' to reach one million plays on purevolume but not to win a popularity contest, aka SPIN's poll (I would argue that the two are one in the same)

I am no stranger to this phemonena in music; I am also huge fans of both Blink-182 and Yellowcard, two bands who I can say I "got in to" before they reached national exposure. While I'll be the first to admit that it can be argued that the quality of music these bands put out as they grew more famous may have degraded/changed, I can still sit back and pop in Blink-182 (self-titled) (Blink) or Lights & Sounds (Yellowcard) and enjoy it just as much as Dude Ranch or One For The Kids, respectively.

I welcome (and anticipate) any future arguments against mine.

i don't really know whether to applaud NOY or not. its not like this has never been done before.. i'm sure if we could just expose every poll, survey, hell even purevolume plays... we'd reveal a whole shitload of "dirty work" like this. i wouldn't be surprised if panic has done something like this in the past. maybe its my bias talking, cause i hate panic, but cheating isn't something new to this cut-throat industry.

valencia, however, is on the rise and working their asses off to build a fanbase. so, good for them hyping people up.
