So, has anyone read The Perks Of Being A Wallflower?

Because, it was simply fucking amazing.

i finished it last week, fell in love with every character, except Brad, that fucking prick.

Yeah we read it in 11th grade...I love how they use my favorite Smiths song EVER as like the theme song of the book..."Asleep"

it was a good book, but awfully written.

It's supposed to be...it's a "stream of consciousness tale", first popularized by William Faulkner, where he writes like you are literally inside the head of the author.

I've read it three or four times now. I lent it to my American Lit teacher because she wanted to read it, and she said she loved it. I read it, then read Catcher In The Rye and found The Perks... to be a more updated version of Catcher. Anyone else see the connection?

Aren't there like, 5028589 references to Holden and Catcher in the acutal book? I think the author makes a point to make them ridiculously similar.

That book is so overrated. Its decent, but it isn't as great as people make it out to be.

alot of high school kids love this book, maybe because they can somewhat relate to it

Read A Heartbreaking Work of a Staggering Genius by David Eggers if you liked this book at all.

It's like it, but less shallow.
