Thanks goes out to John for taking the time to do this with me and for you guy's.
Music
Silverchair - After my recent post on them, I decided to dig up some of their tapes/CD's. I suggest you do the same.
This Is Hell (http://www.myspace.com/thisishell) - I am sooooooo stoked for their new album, Sundowning, which hits stores on May 16th!!!
Konami Defense System (http://myspace.com/konamidefensesystem) - These young dudes from Portland remind me of The Rise and Refused. Check them out if you're into the mentioned.
Movies/TV
Mean Creek
Freaks and Geeks(why did this get tossed off the air?)
John Death's recommendations
-----------------------------------
August Burns Red (http://www.myspace.com/augustburnsred) - Although this bands name is a bit cheesy and cliche, Do not let that fool you. Their new album Thrill Seeker is a must for anyone that likes Brutal Metalcore with tons of riffy/technical breakdowns that make your head want to explode.
Crash Romeo (http://www.myspace.com/crashromeo) - The new Trustkill (http://www.trustkill.com) band that's definately going to be huge. This catchy pop punk band is by far one of the best I've heard in awhile. Good guys, good music, their new album should be coming out pretty soon... So go buy it when it hits shelves.
Elliot (http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/tg/detail/-/B00004T2MJ/qid=1139735198/sr=2-1/ref=pd_bbs_b_2_1/102-7108139-6707309?v=glance&s=music) - This band did something amazing when they put out False Cathedrals. It inspired me in so many ways. Its one of the few musical definitions of Beauty
Glassjaw (http://www.myspace.com/glassjaw)/Daryl Palumbo - Yes everyone know Glassjaw neeeeds to put out another album and I have my fingers crossed. Worship and Tribute was a musical masterpiece. So raw and agressive yet so melodic and hypnotyzing. No matter what Daryl does (GJ, Head Auto, Debracadabra, etc.) He always manages to do it better then god... Flawless.
Mxpx (http://myspace.com/mxpx) - This band has always been my favorite since day one. They started so much for me and a lot of other people I'm sure. I can listen to any of their albums and enjoy them thoroughly. I recomend this band to anyone who enjoys good ol' punk rock.
