i just recently got into maylene and would definately go to see them and the chariot. is it just me or do p.o.d.'s songs all have the same rap style to them? like you could put the lyrics from any song to the beat of any song and it'd work.
Are you kidding? Have you ever been to one of their shows?
yes i have, a few times, they spaz out and look like idiots, ever seen bad luck 13? blood for blood? shattered realm? Theyre threatening, a bunch of horror chords and flailing skinny kids arent...theyre just there for kids with girl pants, eye liner, and white studded belts, that listen to the cds on display at hot topic to feel like they know hardcore

if i was the chariot and maylene, id do this tour too. it's going to bring out TONS of people every night and a whole new crowd of people will hear their music. it's actually a really smart move by both of those bands.
p.o.d. also helped pave the way for christian bands to become more welcome in a mainstream market, and probably are one of the most successful mainstream christian artists in history.

I wonder if this tour has anything to do with the Cory Putman/Brandon Norma Jean connection. I think the guitarist of POD used to play with Cory in Eso-Charis, cory's now in NJ and Josh never should have left the Jean.

I think you misunderstood him. By no means is the Chariot an inherently threatening band, but in the eyes of kids whose musical tastes stretch no farther than K-ROCK fodder, they may be pretty "violent."
Also, I'm aware BL13/BFB/SR's shows are havens for violent pricks, but I hope to God you're not saying this is a good thing. Or saying they make good music. I'll take 2nd-rate Botch songs over lame death metalcore / cheesy tough guy / bad tough guy Slayer/Hatebreed ripoff stuff 7 days of the week.

i actually was wondering how long it would take for someone to say that.
and as much as it annoys me, i shouldn't wail on any bands because everyone has different tastes and i really hate when people trash on a band just because it doesn't fit their taste. so i apologize for that ignorant comment.
however, usually i can understand the appeal behind a band even if they don't appeal to me personally. maylene is just not one of those instances for me, i'm really genuinely surprised by the amount of people that think they're so great. but hey, what do i know?
and i think p.o.d. and pillar are getting trashed on more than they deserve. i think they both bring a lot to the table as far as live shows are concerned. even though i'm not a huge fan of either band, i think they have enough energy live to make it really fun for everyone in the crowd, even those who don't care for them.

P.O.D. and The Chariot?
Exactly what I thought!!
Let's welcome POD to the scene *lol*
Too bad Sonny of POD has become the new Scott Stapp; an egotistical fanatical Christian. They told Marcos before they kicked him out, "You need to prioritize where you're at with your music and where you're at with your walk with God."
All because he wanted to be in two bands at once like Maynard does with Tool and Perfect Circle. WTF?
