Good Work Cheney, fucking moron. good thing he can take responsibility for it and tell people about it, oh wait he can't he has to have a public citizen take care of telling people, in which she only told a local newspaper. way to be against guns and shoot a friend, and yeah like shatter590 said, he was on a nature preserve. shows how much of a moron our VP is.

This has to be the dumbest story, that's become a story in a long time. He accidentaly peppered a guy, guess what, it happens all the time. Only reason he's in the hospital was because of his age and the areas in which he was hit. The very next day it said he was joking with people at the hospital. There has to be something better than this for Bush haters to attack on. Go back to Iraq because at least it was a major story.

It really isn't a story, but anything that involves the Whitehouse seems to become one. So what, it's not like he shot him in the face at point blank range. It happened, but it's not relevant to anything.
If this is the only thing that people have to complain about with regards to Dick Cheney, they should read the paper. His possible involvement in the CIA leak case is much bigger news, yet nobody is covering it.
The conspiracy theorists are going to have a field day with this story. Headline: "VP shoots friend to draw attention away from leak investigation" :: puts on tinfoil hat ::

I have no idea how you can pretend it's not a big deal. Of course it's going to be a news story. The President choking on a pretzel was a bigger deal than this. Take it easy, everyone will forget in a week.

yeah it was just minor. I didn't really see a reason for this to be a political issue either. Seems they didn't even have correct hunting liscenses either. Guess its just those good ol' boys never meaning no harm.

It may not be political but it is definitely ironic that Kerry was attacked by the Bush campaign for his hunting pictures because he didn't look like a real hunter and then Cheney is caught not only hunting without a license but he shot a fellow hunter.

It may not be political but it is definitely ironic that Kerry was attacked by the Bush campaign for his hunting pictures because he didn't look like a real hunter and then Cheney is caught not only hunting without a license but he shot a fellow hunter.
He had a liscense. Apparently you have to have some $7 stamp for something which started as a law this past September in Tx, and this is what they didnt have. They were each given a warning for now having the stamp and paid the 7$ for the stamp. If you want to attack something as stupid as this than at least get it right.
"The department gave Cheney and the victim, prominent Republican attorney Harry Whittington, warning citations for breaking Texas hunting law by failing to buy a $7 stamp allowing them to shoot upland game birds. A department spokesman said warnings are being issued in most cases because the stamp requirement only went into effect five months ago and many hunters weren't aware of it.
Cheney's office said Monday night in a statement that Cheney had a $125 nonresident hunting license and has sent a $7 check to cover the cost of the stamp. "The staff asked for all permits needed, but was not informed of the $7 upland game bird stamp requirement," the statement said."

Seems you're the one anal over attacking him for something so foolish. The attacks on Kerry were foolish as well, eventhough I never saw anything making fun of Kerry from the Bush administration about his hunting trip (could be wrong on that). At least the Kerry one was comical because no one got hurt.

This story is actually becoming a real issue now, and it here's why: the coverup. The actual event was dumb and could happen to anybody, but the fact that we're now hearing about how the administration tried to cover it up completely is... curious, to say the least. Also is the fact that Cheney would not speak to authorities for 24 hours.

i think cheney admitted to having a beer at lunch before they went hunting. maybe it was more than just one beer though
