I was just watching MTV and our favorite Canucks lended their video to the inter-cut footage of that MTV show fraternity life. I see no point...at all. I think I can safely say, my friends, that this epidimizes what people call selling out. Why are they doing this... no doubt in my mind that MTV is unceasingly trying to find new and diverse ways to piss us off and exploit the "punk" trend . <---how do you like that oxymoron
here..i'll save you the trouble.."you're an oxy-moron!"

How does a band sell-out when they've been around for just over a year and their debut album is on a major?
And yes, I know some guys in the band were in Reset. But we're talking about Simple Plan. Might not be a punk band, but hardly sell-outs.

no one cares. a simple plan sucks. they shall die by my orders. i order imediate decapitation and castration of all the members, except their singer. for him the decapitation will be enough. since we all know he has no testicles.

If no one cares, why are there two separate threads about the video on this page alone?

Their videos are kinda dumb and pointless but really, how many music videos aren't?

Yeah i dont understand how people can actually listen to these guys. Three reasons why they suck...
1. The singers voice is so annoying i just want to reach down his throat and rip out his voice box.
2. They're lyrics are so dumb, you can always anticipate what they are going to say next. My 5 years old sister can write better.
3. They completely sold out. How many records do they have?? Definately not enough to have "earned" as many fans as they have.
Thankyou and goodnight

^ You don't need a gazillion records to "earn" fans. Last time I checked, it was talent, a good live show, looks, or all three.
Besides, they've got to be doing something right for them to have so many fans, whatever that something is.

Taking Back Sunday sold out nearly every show on the Takeover Tour, they're making radio countdowns, are appearing on Jimmy Kimmel May 14, and their album has been on the heatseekers chart for weeks, if not months. have they sold out?
no. no they have not. the same goes for finch, another band who will be getting a lot of "selling out" crap because they are steadily gaining popularity.
i hate simple plan though, their music is terrible and their lyrics are juvenile.

I hate that video, the song fucking sucks.
I think I liked simple plan the first time I heard them, then I realized how fucking annoying the singers voice is and how retarted their lyrics are.... and going on tour with avril? come on.

What are you talking about. They are only a year old, and they have already "SOLD OUT?"
Another thing, if they are trying to exploit the "new punk trend" they are complete asses. Punk is not new, it has been around since the seventies. Plus, they choose poser punk to exploit. what?!?!

Hey everyone. FYI Simple Plan is by no means exploiting the punk trend. they do not claim to be punk. You yourselves are giving them that category by saying that they exploit it. Also, Addicted is actually quite a good video. It's my favourite Simple Plan video. The song is meaningful and powerful, and watching them vent out their feeling by totally destroying a house is a great way to express the meaning of the song. Also, for those of you that dont know, the lead singer, Pierre, and the drummer, Chuck are the ones who used to play in Reset, Also, the bass player David, joined reset for 6 months after Pierre left, but he too left it for Simple Plan.
