View Full Version : NBA Trade Rumors. Darko and More.

The Magic have offered their first round pick, which is not lottery protected, and Kelvin Cato to the Pistons for Darko and Arroyo.
The Nuggets have been talking to the Knicks in hopes that they'll take Kenyon Martin. hahaha but knowing Zeke he'd probably trade a can of pork n beans for Martin. Julius Hodge, Lenard, and others are rumored to be on the block too. Hodge sucks.
Drew Gooden and Larry Hughes have been offered for Ray Allen, the Sonics would be stupid to make that deal.
The Lakers have offered Lamar Odom and Andrew Bynum to the Knicks for Penny Hardaway and Channing Frye. Isiah's hesitant to trade Frye, but likes Bynum alot.

seems stupid to me, getting basically nothing for odom seems dumb, frye for bynum seems like it should be a straight deal judging on talent/upside...obv salarys may not match but it just kind of seems like giving away a 15 and 10 guy for no reason,.

if they make this trade, i think they have a shot at the playoffs, IMO channing frye>lamar odom. i thought frye was a joke at the beginning of the year, but he's had some big games.
the whole point of the trade is penny's expiring contract, that'd be 15 million bucks that would come off their books next season.

the trade that had originally been brought up was odom, bynum, and a pick for garnett.
garnett said that he wanted to play with kobe, and vice versa...it could still happen, but the chances arent great.

with the tailspin that the wolves are in, Mchale is going to have to do something or risk losing his job. after their performance last year and their pathetic season this year.. they either need to trade alot of the team, or move garnett... we will see

true, true. it's like they paniced once they lost out on allen and redd and just gave a shitload to make sure they got the third option out there. pretty much their whole offseason was disappointing. i wish they'd ship damon jones too. he hits some big shots, but he wastes way too many possessions by taking stupid threes.
i'm just hoping hughes can be of some use whenever he comes back. and watch out for stephen grant, the dude they just signed to a 10-day contract. he's been playing fucking awesome.

he's from the chicago area, so he'd like to play for the bulls. the lakers and bulls are his likley options.
random side note, when i was in junior high, our high school team went to state...and who did we get our ass kicked by? kevin garnett. fuck. he lit us up.
but...i did get his first basketball card ever that weekend, good ole IHSA cards.

I don't know how you guys can say hodge sucks as a pro. He's averaged like 1 minute a game this year. He's on a team where he's behind miller, boykins, watson, buckner and vo lenard. They sent him to the D league, cause he's just getting rusty on the bench. And it's a well known fact that Karl doesn't play rookies. The only reason Kleiza is playing is cause Nene went down, Camby has been down as well as KMart. Otherwise he'd be on the bench too, and you'd say he was a big12 bust.

how are you including lenard who's only played in 12 games, and hasnt played since dec 15th?
kleiza hasnt started a game all season, and is only pulling eight minutes per game, but he's earned that through the way he's played.
k mart has missed 13 games this season. camby has missed a few more. linas plays garbage minutes, but once again, unlike hodge, he's earned the minutes.
hodge will amount to nothing in the leauge, he'll be two years and done player. he shouldnt haev been a first rounder.

I think so too. He's a 7 footer with good game. just he's only 19 years olk (or 20, i don't remember, it's been too long since the last darko sighting) and he's adjusting from a war torn country to america where he has to learn the language, how to drive, how to live, how to thrive in this society while playing against some of the best players in the whole world. he needs to get cut some slack. and i'll be sad when he goes and tears shit up because he enver got a chance here. Id on't think you should give up on a kid before you even give him a chance, you know?
I hope he doesn't eat boykins, cause he went to eastern michigan, so i like seeing him succeed since he's from the mac. much like i root for chris kaman because he went to central michigan. However, i think boykins > Kaman based solely on his grew-my-balding-thin-woody-harrelson-hair-out-like-i'm-david-lee-roth type nasty hair style.

lamar odom is far, far from trash...when you're 6'10" with 3 point range, can handle the ball, and have enough floor vision to get double digit assists on occasion, you are probably not trash, and are probably worth a lot more than a "decent player" to "most teams." if you remember back miami's team pre-shaq/wade, lamar odom was a point forward averaging 17, 10, and 4 a night. trash...is just not a very good assessment of a 25-year-old matchup nightmare for opposing teams.
and have you all been watching the pistons this year? why would anyone screw with the chemistry in that rotation right now? are you telling me darko milicic is going to give the pistons better minutes than antonio mcdyess, or even dale davis? no, he isn't...and those two games he started last season were against the bobcats and the hawks.

he had one good season in miami. ONE. pre wade? huh 2004? lets see here, wades rookie season. right? right.
wade was the one leading his team in ppg, apg, and fg% through out those playoffs and in the regular season averaged 16 ppg, 5 apg and 4 rpg. wade was the one who stepped up his performance towards the end of the season. it was wade who lead the team with 24 ppg, 7 apg and 5 rpg in a seven game winning streak that ultimatley secured their spot in the playoffs. also leading them to an 18 and 5 record the last month and a half of the season. this was a team at the 40 game mark that had a record of 16 and 25 and turned things around to be a over .500 team. odom was not the leader of that team, wade was...he played one season in miami...and it was wades rookie year.
it doesnt matter who darko started against, it was the fact that he went out there and proved he could play. he was match up against emeka in that game, and ill remind you that emeka was rookie of the year last season. darko plays more minutes, and has better numbers than dale davis, what are you talking about? we're just saying that darko deserves a CHANCE, that's it. and they're going to fuck up by trading him.

here are two supposed deal zeke has on the table
1. Hardaway/Crawford/Ariza shipped out and Watson/Martin/Lenard coming in
2. Hardaway/Crawford/Robinson for Francis/Filler is the deal we want but #1 is more likely.
the filler in that deal is most likely tony battie since kelvin kato is going to detroit

if the second one happened, the magic would've just raped the knicks. but zeke's used to it, wait...i think he likes it.

the way i see it is the knicks get raped in both deals
1.denver kmart injury prone..bad knees etc etc watson seems like the only player who would play everynight for them
2.orlando gets the sg they need nate and pennys big expiring deal they really dont win either way

i hope Mark Cuban can leave the mavericks alone this trade season. i think we're fine right where we are...but then again, maybe they could get another big man for someone of that deep bench...still, probably not worth. not now that Mbenga is rocking the ri-z-im. word.
