Word. Also tell me if I used enough Gerunds/Participles, as that's the point.
I see floating Animal Crackers inside
The glass of milk that rests on kitchen tables
Next to a bowl of deep red tomato soup
With a grilled cheese I haven't seen since I was 8
I glance at the snow dripping down on the log
And watch my little brother running through it
The large, curving hill at the end of my street
Where I used to sled when I was a young boy
I hear the music still playing in my ears
Each resonating note ringing out loud still.
But as I think about playing piano with poise
Each perfect chord resounds in a wrong fashion
If growing up means I need to leave this all behind
I can't stop seeing myself here forever
And with each waking moment of my staying here
I see myself smiling wider than ever before
I see floating Animal Crackers inside
The glass of milk that rests on kitchen tables
