I'm looking for good bands with prominent synth. Emphasis on 'synth,' 'prominent,' and 'good.

Make some recommendations!

my band has some pretty synth-prominent songs. www.myspace.com/theglassgentlemen (listen to Night Sleep Maybe and Mayday)

also, 3OH!3 has mega synth. so does (better band) Innerpartysystem

How about:
-Metric
-The Sounds
-Journey
-Minus the Bear

Let me know if any of those are what you're looking for...

Well, I listened Night Sleep Maybe by your band and I was kinda digging it. Downloads anywhere?
I'm not a fan of 3Oh!3 at all. They're garbage. Innerpartysystem is pretty good.

Those are all excellent bands imo. I was excited to see the Minus the Bear rec.

Yeah, I love Minus the Bear's synth parts; really makes most of their songs work for me. Passion Pit, Telefon Tel Aviv, and Owl City are some other obvious recommendations I can think of right now... also, Shiny Toy Guns album "We Are Pilots"; other than that I'm drawing a blank for some reason

DNTEL
The Dreamer and the Sleeper (Free Music Friday band)
Enon
Fischerspooner
The Helio Sequence

haha I would agree with almost all of those in the last list; I keep thinking of more and more, seems like too many to list! Here's a few I guess:
-Crystal Castles
-Does it Offend you, yeah?
-LCD Soundsystem
-Ratatat
-Swimming With Dolphins
-The A-B Theory
-Autechre
-Hot Chip
-The Postal Service
-Holy Fuck

There's so many... I know I'm missing a bunch, but I think you have plenty of recs from people now :-)

Take a journey back to the 80s man!

Pet Shop Boys
Duran Duran
A-ha

Bands that I know that are "current" are MGMT, the Postal Service, and Hot Chip...? I haven't heard much of the latter.

What are some synth bands you listen to? It would be helpful to known what you consider "good" synth pop. ^_^

Silversun Pickups have awesome synth..but sometimes you have to listen hard for it.
If you're into metal, Dying Diva is amazing. Their new album "A Sunday Walk on Murder Avenue" is synth heaven.

Haha, you're kidding right?

That wasn't my RIYL, thats what the band posted. I'd say they're more like The Graduate + Jazz + Synth. The Usher probably refers to the mild R&B feel.

Ha, that just makes me laugh. The Graduate part seems pretty sweet though.
