Billy Mays vs. Michael Jackson.

i know this may sound silly, but when i heard abuot Billy Mays, I actually felt more upset than when I heard about MJ. Sure, MJ was probably more "wow'ing" because of who he is and name.....but I think Billy Mays in the past 5-6 years has been a much more important part in my entertainment life than MJ. I cant relate to MJ..his passing...although still sad...just didnt hit me. And the way Billy Mays died was so tragic too. Poor guy and family.

But maybe i'm way off base here. I mean it's MJ...im sure he's touched more people than Billy Mays. So i'm curious on ap opinion.

Billy Mays was pretty sad because he did those infomercials and was very entertaining doing it, but MJ... well... was michael jackson! also anyone else notice how they were both 50 years old? and then farrah fawcett was only 52? thats a lil messed up, all died pretty damn young by today's standards

Billy Mays.

I wasn't as sad as I was shocked by Billy Mays's death. I love Pitchmen.

Billy Mays dying affected me more than Michael Jackson for whatever reason.

Billy Mays. I just saw him on Conan last week and he seemed like he was so happy and everything.
Michael Jackson's death was out of nowhere, but come on... He wasn't the healthiest being.

Not a huge fan of either, although I have to pick MJ simply because of everything he has done for music. I'm not saying I enjoy listening to his music all that much, but I respect to an astronomical extent.

If you knew anything about Michael Jackson's life, he would be the clear answer for this question (the "which guy was more depressing" question, not "which death made you more upset").

Billy Mays died on my brother's birthday and we found out during a party, which made his death hit me harder because of the circumstances.

Michael Jackson's death made me sad because it's been a constant in my life so to have one constant suddenly disappear left me feeling weird. Billy Mays' death just took me off guard completely.

Michael Jackson, just because it sucks it had to end this way for him. He made amazing music, but the guy never had a chance to just have a normal life. His whole life was just...really depressing. :(

Oh, and whoever made the pedophile comment- low blow, dude, low blow.

Billy Mays, Miichael Jackson was good, but in my mind he hasn't done anything new since the late 80's.

Michael Jackson. I wasn't even a really big fan until I realized after his death that he sang a bunch of songs that I loved. If only I had known.

yeah, and you're getting shit for this.

as far as you know, he was. michael jackson is just as innocent as billy mays was.

i'm sick of this michael jackson touched kids shit. if he did it, he would have got busted. he didn't do it. it was just a sick fucking mother trying to use her child to get money from a rich guy. it's rather pathetic.

and your perception of whether or not michael is innocent shouldn't affect whether you were saddened by his death. regardless, it's a tragedy.

billy mays didn't affect anyone's lives.

yeah, because settling out of court because you have tons of money certainly shows that someone is innocent! You sure showed me that Michael Jackson was innocent! Give me a break.

"It's rather pathetic" to molest children and bleach your skin and disfigure your face and sleep with little boys and build an amusement park full of rides for little kids and statues of little barebutt children...

by the way, I don't feel that Michael Jackson's death was a tragedy because HE BROUGHT IT ON HIMSELF. What the fuck did Billy Mays do to deserve to die? he wasn't a DRUG ADDICT.

don't fucking tell me that Billy Mays didn't affect anyone's life either. He had a family and friends that loved him, just because he wasn't a celebrity who was adored world-wide for his craft doesn't mean he wasn't a freaking amazing person.

oh and by the way, if people were just after Michael Jackson's money, how come we don't hear stories about how Oprah or Bill Gates is going around molesting little kids?

Both deaths shocked the crap out of me, but Billy Mays hit me MUCH harder. I don't know what it was, but it just seemed so out of the blue and from Pitchmen he seemed like a really cool guy.

Pitchmen is having a special on him tomorrow, or today (July 9th) at 9 on Discovery, I think.

I don't get it. Billy Mays was the king of infomercials. Since whern were infomercials such a big part of our lives? MJ was the king of pop, and guilty or not, his music will always be remembered by millions of people. Hearing that speach from his daughter was heartbreaking.

are you freaking kidding? mays affected many lives. beyond friends and family, he donated to charities and his infomercials, pitching, and sales greatly helped the economy, especially with the state it's in now.

I think it's hilarious that, for the past few years, people have been bashing mj and saying how much of a freak he was...then he dies and he's this immortal legend that everyone pretends they've loved and idolized their entire lives. (maybe not the right choice of words...but whatever)
