In anticipation of their upcoming release, Oh! Calcutta, I will be conducting an interview with The Lawrence Arms (http://www.thelawrencearms.net). If you have any questions you would like me to ask, please post them in the replies.

how they feel about the current state of music (not the music industry but like, the types of music and bands that are currently big).
why they chose Oh! Calcutta as their new album title.

Ask them what it's like to influence tons of bands and receive no credit for it. Er...don't word that question that way, but that's the general idea that I'm going for. Also ask why their new cd is sooo god damn good. :)

do they prefer the larry arms, or the lawrence arms? favorite bands today? favorite beer? what is the significance of the three men featured on the cover of "the greatest story ever told"? for how much longer do they see their band going?

there is this cool new thing called purevolume.com where chances are you can add a "/nameofband" and somehow you can listen to all these new fresh and exciting bands.
also, google is pretty cool.

why are they so amazing?

ask them if they notice a difference between the fans here and overseas, specifically if the kids over there seem more supportive and more into the music as opposed to passing trends.
I'd also love to hear what brendan has to say about victory records.

ok for all the wise ass morons out there I wasnt asking for directions to find out what they sounded like. If you would take the 3 seconds to read my post and actually comprehend the letters that form the sentence you might see that I was simply asking what bands they might sound like. Now, instead of being little holier than thou scenesters you could have just answered but instead you had to be dickheads. And for all of you that know so fucking much, my speakers on my comp dont work so purevolume isnt an option dickheads.

Wrong, they don't sound like any of those bands. The sound like the larry arms. Completly original, they cannot be piegeon holded with those bands. punk rock at its finest.

Ask them if they are aware of the fact that if they ever break up, EVER, I will track them down with a knife, knock down their doors, and use the knife to slice a really tasty cake I baked myself while begging them like a little bitch to get back together.

Goddammit, figures I read this thread while I'm drunk and can't smoothly put together questions. Ummmm there must be something I want to know...
+ The songs on Oh! Calcutta! seem more like they were written together and not separate songs brought in by Brendan and Chris. I would like to know if they approached the songwriting in a different way for this album, and if not, why there seems to be a stronger emphasis on Brendan with the album.
+ What the beer of choice is before the boys take the stage, and also if they are at all worried about any negative repercussions from playing their shows while majorly intoxicated.
+ What is the best city for after-show partying?
+ The band has taken a pretty strong stance against corporate sponsorships and promotion, as evident by the hidden track on Oh! Calcutta! as well as other statements the band has said in interviews. If it ever got to a point where a major label was interested in the band, would there be any consideration into joining forces with them? How would the situation be addressed?

its good stuff, but i'd rather hear them explain it out... band that pay warped tour arent the only types of bands that are popular these days.

ask brenden what he'd do in this situation: your stuck on an island and given a choice. you can either have all the beer you want and a dillenger 4 cd or all the water you want and the demo's for the next good charlotte album playing on a loop. Granted, if you choose the water you have a higher chance for survival. if you choose the beer, you die within a few days. just how important is survival to bren?

b/c " the greatest story" was a concept album of sorts, ask them if there are any b-sides that may (or may not) add to the story leftover from recording that album
thanks

Ask them what books they are reading these days?
And ask how it feels to continuously make music that is golden?

I would also like to know what the sample in "The Disaster March" is from.
