Yeah, that's the point of the poll. I know everyone likes Tell All Your Friends, I want to see what everyone believes is their next best album. Because all we ever hear about is Tell All Your Friends.

False.
you can't deny that tell all your friends is their greatest...
and where you want to be is clearly second.
louder now and new again are both awful.

i probably would've thought the same thing three years ago. let your tastes grow, then see if those two albums are as awful as you think.
Louder Now took a long time, but it grew on me. Where You Want To Be I instantly liked, so I chose that. Since Louder Now took almost 4 years for me to enjoy, I'm going to wait to give my opinion on New Again.

Where You Want To Be starts to get boring after a while. Louder Now has too many bad tracks. As an overall album I'd say New Again is the only one I can enjoy front to back.

I know it has been said before, but loosing John really killed what was special about their sound. Don't get me wrong Fred was good, but it was just completely different. They made it work on Where You Want To Be so it gets my vote, but the more and more the vocals have become solely Adam the worse off this band has become.

louder now is too poppy for my taste.
new again seems awfully rushed.
All the new ones are awful, but I enjoyed Louder Now.

Never understood the fascination with Where You Want to Be. It was the only TBS album I couldn't get into. Louder Now is my favorite after Tell All Your Friends.

Worse with every album? Clearly you're the fool. I actually think Louder Now and New Again are pretty damn good records. Better than Where You Want to Be IMO. Sounds too much like he is going to cry in the middle of singing almost every song on that record.

where you want to be has some legitimately good songs, though.
louder now is just bad.
and new again is untolerable except for "everything must go."
and everything has gotten worse. not just music, but lyrics, and live shows.
tbs began selling out with louder now, and continued selling out with new again.

never seen them live, but I definitely disagree that the music and lyrics have gotten worse, they just evolved like every band does. You can call it selling out if you want, but I personally won't listen to a band who keeps releasing the same record over and over again.

it doesn't need to be the same record...look at brand new.
and lyrics...really?
just look at "bike scene" then look at "sink into me"

In my opinion, I prefer John's songwriting input and Fred's vocals. Mascherino just complimented that band SO well. I voted for Where You Want To Be. I used to hate Louder Now, and I was very apprehensive about New Again but upon more listens they're growing on me. I still love MakeDamnSure.

i was referring to their band members with talent.
lacey was in the band for a short time, and john nolan is amazing as well.

I wouldn;t say John is more talented than Fred or Fazzi, maybe he has better taste, but I think the ladder two are far more talented.

That was such a stupid thing to say. Fazzi is a more talented guitarist than John Nolan or Fred Mascherino ever will be, Lazzara is at the top of his game with lyrics right now, and people can't accept that Taking Back Sunday aren't going to do Tell All Your Friends again, and can't get over it.

proper creative is a bit of a contradiction don't ya think?
I'm really digging New Again so much so that I might even put it first so:
New Again>Tell All Your Friends>Where You Want to Be>Louder Now
Besides Louder Now they're all pretty close yet very distinct in my book.

where you want to be. i honestly think that it's one of their best, either that or tell all your friends.
but my opinions change all the time.
edit: i just don't understand how anyone can hear the words "cut me up jenny, cut me up gently" and not turn the song off.

You're 15, no one will take your opinion seriously until atleast 3 more years. New Again is a great album (if you just take it as it is, and don't compare it to their earlier work)
I voted Where You Want to Be. Thats one album that love every single track on.
Where You Want To Be by far.
It's the only one of the listed that I can listen to fully.

Where You Want To Be. Musically, New Again is a great record. I feel like it's Lazzara's vocals and songwriting that ultimately bring it down. Louder Now took me a long time to get into, but it's got some great hooks on it, albeit some weak tracks. WYWTB really is good though. I still think some of their best work is on that album.

WYWTB is actually my favorite tbs record.
TAYF is obviously a classic record but 7 years later, I'm kinda burnt out on it. I can't really listen to it straight through on my own, only on a road trip or at a party.
but WYWTB...i can blast that anytime and enjoy it fully.

good poll. I think that we all know that Tell All Your Friends was their opus. That doesn't mean that their other albums have to be bad. imo, they are all really great, and they are a really great band. Where You Want To Be
I really, really enjoy Where You Want to Be. It's my second favorite from TBS, but it might crack my top 10 favorite cds of all time.

where you want to be. In my mind, TBS gets worse with each release. From tell all your friends, the step to getting worse was pretty small.

I actually think that Where You Want To Be is their best album overall (and that's including TAYF). I think everyone loves TAYF because it reminds them of a more innocent time in their life. From a purely musical standpoint, WYWTB just flatout has better musicianship than TAYF. Don't get me wrong, Tell All Your Friends is not a bad album by any stretch of the imagination; I just think that WYWTB is better musically.
I also think that people need to quit holding out that Taking Back Sunday is going to make another TAYF. I mean, honestly; would we be at all satisfied if TBS just kept making the same album every year? There are plenty of other bands that do that and they get a lot of shit for it on this site. And really, do we want 30-something year old men still singing to us about heartache and high schoo dramal and whatnot?

WYWTB. I like that album nearly as much as TAYF, if not an equal amount. Plus, it reminds me of Canada because I bought it in Toronto, so that automatically makes it 10x better.

Well done for making this poll. TAYF is my least favourite anyways.
I like Where you Want to Be :) enjopy all of these records though, Louder Now's first half is amazing I think but really falls away towards the end. New Again is consistent all the way through but doesnt quite have anything that blows you away, its a good listen though.

New Again would be their best, if it wasn't for TAYF, WYWTB, or LN.
