I got to say that i agree with the french decision. I mean at least they have some common sense, to try and let the UN have more time to check. THey are opposing war, which is a positive not a negative, right now Saddam hasn't affected anyone and all the US wants is the oil and can no longer wait, so they want to rush in without thinking of the consequences. There must be some people who think that not rushing into war is better than slaughtering innocents, and in the name of terroism maybe, but not oil.

Ok idiot "Saddum" hasn't hurt any one? Well lets see theres the million iraqis he had MURDERED, the thousands of kurds he has GASSED, the Kuwaitis he INVADED, the sheittes he had OPPRESSED and STARVED, the opposition party members he had SLAUGHTORED in the late 70's to take illegal power of Iraq.
But what are these people not important to you? Why cause there a diffferent color then you or from a far off place? Or do you have such personal hatred for Bush that you dont care if other suffer and die just so long as Bush doesn't get reelected? Or are you just so self that you don't care what happens out side your front door?
Also the french have no comman sense, probably never did. They aren't opposed to the war because the care about the Iraqi people, there opposed because they know we will find out information on there ILLEGAL trade agreements will Saddum that are illegal under the UN sanctions, there also worried that we're giong to find out about there weapons deallings with Iraq.
Being opposed to this war is not really a positive in any way buddy.
Also the whole oil thing has been done to death, that is all you left-wingers have, "ah ah.....Well its got to be over oil, it can't be about help the Iraqi people......ah ah because we don't care about them so how can the fellows on the right care?
There is oil all over the WORLD if we were going to start a war over it why wouldn't we do if somewhere closer to home? Also it those liberals in this country would just let us drill on our own land then we would n't have to worry about oil from a far off land (as much).
1 last thing, please try not ot make threads until you've been here longer or actually have an arguement, ok, im not trying to be mean but that was a really stoopid post.

how can you agree with the french? they lied directly to the secretary of state. he told them, don't vote for 1441 if you are going to veto any further action, and they voted anyways in support of 1441, knowing full well, they would never support action to enforce it. also, they have more intrest in keeping saddam in power than anyone other than saddam. they have billions in oil agreements with iraq, and they've sold iraq billions in weapons (after the gulf war and before), some of them that are components of WMD's. the french, rather than doing what is best for the world, decided that if they stand up and oppose the US, they would be percived as powerful, and in doing so they've rendered the UN all but useless. the irony is, the UN is the only place where france is on equal footing with the US, without the UN, the US is the only superpower.

what you don't hear is that the US sold Saddam the capabilites to do that. we knew that Iraq had chemical weapons because we gave them to him.

Ok Justin_Stacy, i see your point, and im not going to start a verbal dispute with you. I agree with what you have to say man, im just saying that i don't agree with war and that by having france vito the agreement on 1441 then that would not allow a mass agreement on attacking Iraq. I don't want Iraqis to die and i don't want British or American forces to die. Im just saying that the big discussion that people here have is that the news incoming to the US and the West is blurred by propaganda. Personally i don't like Bush, that doesnt mean i hate Americans dude i just don't agree with his actions and his thoughts. Also dude i never knew about the French illegal trade of weapons to Saddam so yeah that does change my opinion.
ANyway man everyone is free to speak their own opinion, isnt that what America is all about, so i will post as much as i want dude. Thanks for the help.

so...what's your point? just because we sold them weapons 20 years ago, ALONG WITH FRANCE AND GERMANY, we should sit back and do nothing now? that point is irrelevant.

france didn't veto 1441, it was passed unanimously, 15-0.

OK dumbass, Iraq used scuds on us. Scuds are not allowed by the UN. We dont need time to check, because they used them. Bingo reason enough to go to war, but wait theres more. Saddam has killed MILLIONS of people, there again is enough reason. So two reasons to go to war. The French are just a bunch of ungreatful pussies who dont want to lose their oil buddy. So you are right the war is about oil. France doesnt want to go to war with Iraq, because Iraq owes France a lot of money, paid by oil. If we destroy Iraq, then France has no body to pay their money they lost. And nobody inoccent is being slaughtered, the US is the most civilian conscious nation in the world when it comes to war.

Thats great that you can give half the facts to make your self look smart, But what you forgot was that we give Iraq weapons to fight off attacks by Iran who had just taken over our Embassy and taken american hostage.
Also how were we to know what kind of a crack pot saddum would turn into.
