false. i discovered brand new at a critical point in my life where i was shaping the kind of music i listened to, and out of all the bands i listened to at 10, 11, 12 (tbs, soco, bn, etc.), brand new is the only one that stuck with me while the other bands seem so juvenile now. someone having brand new as their favorite band doesn't reflect their music tastes, because i can admit that i listen to bands and artists that are far surperior than brand new (none of them that belong in this scene), but i'm not emotionally connected to them like i am to brand new.
