View Full Version : T-Mac HIV Positive?

as most of you know t mac says he has 'undisclosed personal problems' and sometimes doesnt even want to be in uniform or in the arena.

the rumors floating around is that he has HIV, and that his gf and the baby they're having have it as well...

if that's the case, what does this mean for tmac? hate to see a great career get cut short.

That would suck for both parties. I never liked TMac on the court, but I always respected, and found him to be a good person. During the time when there was sniping in the Washington D.C. area, kid was shot and TMac was his favorite player. When McGrady heard about it, he invited the kid to come down to Orlando, and shoot aound with him, and gave him autographs, jerseys, etc. I hope he doesn't have HIV.

Not always more then often a baby will lose all signs of it and after 18 months it will be gone.

that's what i'm saying, they aren't personal problems, they are physical problems. i saw it on ESPN the other day.

I'd punch that ass in the face if i found out he had aids. I know you can't catch aids from just body contact, but would you want to play with some guy that has AIDS. If he knows he has it, and doesn't retire immediately, I have no respect for him at all. He's putting other people in danger. With that being said, I hope he doesn't have it.

On PTI today, they were saying that the problems are from a number of his family memebers have died recently. And "through gm's"? I'm a noob in the sports forum, but are you refering to the Insider thing, or do you have connections like that?

Thanks... I try to stay out of the NBA threads. I mostly contribute my posts to soccer and UNC hoops.

if you are being serious, then you sir, by far, are the biggest douchebag i've ever met in my life.

While he may not have made his point in a very mature manner, in some ways, I have to agree. Personally, I would feel very uncomfortable playing against him if this were the case. People get scratched, people get hit in the nose, there could be blood. And while the chances are rather slim, there is a slight possibility another person's blood could find its way into your body. I don't mean to take anything away from him as a man or athlete, and I sincerely wish him the best, but a sense of responsibility should come into play in my opinion.

I agree with what you said. Playing with HIV is putting others in danger of getting it.

i agree with both of you as well to a point, of course playing a sport like basketball always leaves the possibility of blood being shed...

saying it in the way he said was wrong. "he should be punched in the face". "he would lose all respect".

you cant take away that mcgrady is arguably one of the best players in the game. and Magic played with aids and i dont believe anybody caught it from playing ball with him.

its jsut the way he said it that made him seem immature, ignorant, and close minded.

Believe me, I know. I touched on all of those points. Like I said, the chances are very slim, and I doubt Magic passed it along to anyone. However, I feel that a player should have some moral obligation to spare his peers from the possibility of spreading such a disease.
