Not the biggest fan of Matt Damon, but this doesn't look too bad based on the trailer. Got a Burn After Reading vibe from it.

Am I the only one who had NO idea this was a comedy 'til the trailer came out?

Yeah, I thought it was serious until I watched that. Now I'm totally interested in this.

Guy from CHUD.com just tweeted that The Informant! is like if the Coen Bros. made The Insider.

I'm wondering if this movie is a lot less comedy-driven than the trailer implies. For some reason I get that vibe.

Realized I forgot the exclamation point in the thread title. M-(

No. Really, really no. Burn After Reading is nothing like a black comedy version of the Insider. Have you seen the Insider? Christ.

I hate Joel McHale.

How Soderbergh is going to make a comedy out of this movie that's based off a book that read like a straight Grisham thriller, I'm excited to see. This movie is going to be fantastic.

This was pretty good. Gets better as it goes, and Damon is excellent. Not my favorite movie of the year, but definitely worth seeing.

I concur. I really didn't think it was going anywhere until the halfway mark, then it got really good. I'm surprised by all the comedian cameos - Patton Oswalt, Paul F. Thompkins, Buster Bluth, Hornberger from "30 Rock" - all can play straight pretty well.

There's no way this is as "comedic" as the trailers and TV spots are making it seem

It funny in the way that the ironic events that happen are actually a true life story. Once it hits its midway mark, this film is hilarious.

Yea, it's not. They made it look like a distant cousin of "Burn After Reading." It's not, it's more of a funny drama. But still solid movie.

Most of the laughs come from the fact that the situation just keeps getting worse.

Saw it tonight. Loved it. I agree with the person above me. The hilarity comes as it gets progressively worse alongside some of his priceless voice overs. Best one was his anecdote on polar bears and their ability to become invisible in the snow.

The random voiceovers were so fucking awesome. I really hope Damon gets a best actor nom for this.

Just got this on Blu-Ray. It looks fantastic, and it's even better on second viewing. Only deleted scenes and a commentary as special features, but still worth picking up.
