DJ Premier should be on the list. That is why my vote goes to "other."

J Dilla is the first one that comes to mind. Agreed with DJ Premier as well.

Madlib or the late, great J-Dilla. Out of those listed, though, definitely Pharrell. His work on Hell Hath No Fury is otherworldly.

I don't really know enough about rap to judge production, but I really like Dre's stuff. I'm sure there's tons I don't know.

Out of the list, Pharrell/Neptunes.
My guess is dre/kanye will win based on familiarity of the name. I think Timbaland is the man though.

Yeah I contemplated adding Premier, but I figured only 1 or 2 people would probably vote for him considering the other options.

I duno dude, the man is a legend. If people don't know who he is they clearly haven't read up on their hip-hop history. Other than Dre I don't think anyone on this list has had as much influence within the genre.

Oh I agree with you. I just doubt many AP.net readers realize that.

I'm somewhat of an old school elitist so my opinions on this genre are just a tad bias. But yeah you're prolly right.

He's what's wrong with the auto-tune generation? The auto-tune generation is what's wrong with the auto-tune generation. In the sense of using it as a voice effect as opposed to a pitch corrector.
Kanye is a great producer. He took sampling to a new level and has a very unique and distinct style on all of his records. Him, Pharrel, and Dr. Dre are my favorites on this list.

Really? I can't think of one thing he has done for sampling that hasn't already been done by better producers before him. Don't get me wrong, he's good...but he really hasn't done anything revolutionary with his production.

Premier, Pete Rock & Dilla come to mind as my favorites. Out of the ones on the list I'd go with the Neptunes though. Dre's a good pick too.

Don't know enough about this genre to really make a good educated vote, but I went with Kanye based on the fact that it seems like he's behind a ton of songs that I like.

Kanye West has actually apologized for his attitude, recently. He admits that he was, in his words, a "spoiled brat".
