i'd say Rap, but some changes are needed to get it back to the glory days of biggie and pac, some kind of regulation to stop the shit that's being produced as of right now.

Hip-Hop's doing great right now.
i love the midtown song in your sig!
and i'd say yes to rap, because although right now it may suck, who's to say it won't improve and return to the times of biggie and 2pac? there's got to be one rapper that you are guilty of enjoying right now.

I listen to very little hip-hop and/or rap, but you can't just count out an entire genre. Just because the majority of rap is terrible doesn't mean all of it is. You have to take the bad with the good though. Think about how many shitty bands there are in the world compared to good ones.
So I voted Yes.

try some good ska bands who
toast (Jamaican precursor to rapping)
eg. the toasters track - dub56(coolie ranx version)
talented stuff

Yeah true, the whole genre doesn't suck, im about to change it to main street rap, 'cause im mean like 50 cent and them, i think they are terrible/sexist i really hate that

i'd say no to rap right now
the last good thing i heard from this genre was 3 or 4 years ago when Nas had his little comeback with Stillmatic and him and Jay-Z (another current "rapper" that i'd rather never see again) were having that duel.
i just honestly can't see rap ever returning to anything close to the glory days. the whole thing is dying with every millions rap songs/videos based completely on sex.

mainstream rap is pretty bad right now. but i still listen to some stuff from mid '90's. Jurassic 5 is probably one of the best hip hop groups.

I used to think like that. Like "Ohh I like alt. rock I can't like rap it's not accepted." That's BS. People should be open to all music.

i never used to think like that.

be so narrow minded towards music.
theres bands froms nearly every genre
i can think of that i enjoy hugely
Rap is music too, so yes rap.

I don't like a lot of today's rap, but I like rap in it's truest form. Not the dance rap and rappers trying to sing.
tupac and biggy and the like are mainstream, yeah? yes.

i'd say no to rap right now

i just honestly can't see rap ever returning to anything close to the glory days. the whole thing is dying with every millions rap songs/videos based completely on sex.
then you listen to the wrong kind of rap.
i didn't know this was for mainstream vs no mainstream rap...so i voted yes, but i dont really like anything mainstream.
for some political and thought provoking rap listen to: immortal technique, jedi mind tricks, the streets.
other good groups: blackalicious, party fun action committee, dmx
check them out...they're not shitty and mesoganistic.

I take my yes vote back if it's mainstream...but I don't listen to mainstream rock so I don't see the point in this thread. There are a ton of underground rap artists that are fucking sick, get over it.

i first read this as "nap or no nap"
i cannot stand mainstream rap
but a couple of my guy friends are in to more underground stuff. and its alright. they actually talk about real things rather than just about drugs/sex/degrading women
