I need to know how any long-time TBS fan is supposed to be a fan of New Again...Because the lyrics are as if you took person with terrets and wrote down every senseless thing they blurted out...because it makes no sense for a thirty year old man to be writing about the same things in the same style as when he was 18...just my opinion
I think Adam might have terrets. Maybe parkinsons too - he seems to shake a lot too, the couple times I've seen them live. lol
But seriously, I've been a TBS fan since day 1. This album isn't amazing but I still jam it and it's got some catchy melodies. I actually like it more than Where You Want To Be.

And on the topic of the whole "Adam just repeats lyrics" thing, dude he's done that for a real long time now, probably since Nolan left the band actually. Why are we just hating on it now?
Songs like "Up Against" off Louder Now weren't bad even though Adam repeated himself damn near the whole song.

Why? because it makes me feel better about myself..because deep down im hurting on the inside...not....because its cool to hate on retards like adam who think they are some sort of musical genius when really he really has no lyrical talent what so ever...he's as good at writing lyrics as i am at being a black person(not meant to be racist)
When has he ever said he was a musical genius? By the way, it's spelled Tourette's
They get worse with every album.

I wouldn't quite say it's not worth listening to, but then again it also couldn't be called good. There's only a couple decent songs, and not one song that can match up to the best of TAYF or WYWTB.

God forbid I like it better than their previous two discs.

wow. im surprised that "not worth listening to" has so many votes. crazy. i know they arent half the great band they used to be but theyre still a pretty good band with good musicians and singers. i think theyve taken the next progressive step that they could. there will never be another "tell all your friends" and i think we all miss it so much that we start to dislike tbs for not going closer in that direction. either way, i still think its a good album but not their best. i still enjoy them as a band. theyre great imo.

I've been a fan of Taking Back Sunday since Tell All Your Friends and I love New Again. It is by far better than Louder Now (hands down, their worst album). I love TAYF and it will always hold a special place in my heart (although, WYWTB is my personal favorite), but New Again just has better musicianship than TAYF.

"If I'm just bad news, then you're a liar"
Kinda reminds me of an interview with John Nolan from a long time ago where he said that one of the reasons he left the band was because the songs all pretty much followed the same format. Generally, they go verse, chorus, verse, chorus, then Adam repeating something over and over with John repeating something else over and over.

Definitely a great summer record - just like the new Brand New will be outstanding for the fall.
