Word. Kinda... dare I say it... Bukowski-esque?(Minus the talent) I hope so. Anyway, enjoy. Yes, I'm a fucking lightbulb. :) P.S. This is dedicated to Shauna, though I'm not sure why...

Last night lying in bed,
I wished I was a lightbulb.
So that I could be impressive
A technological advancement.

And after lying for a few hours
Wishing I could be bright
I fell into a sleep, dreaming
Dreaming I was a lightbulb
I was around a campfire
Shining into someones face
To look as menacing
As the story they were telling.
I was in a desk lamp
Lighting the way through
A young girl's reading
She was beautiful
But I didn't care, because
I'm just a light,
Not capable of feeling,
Not capable of love.

When I woke up from my dream
I felt as though someone had pulled my hair
And after coming of my own
I realized what I am
I am nothing more
Than a lightbulb
But I'm slightly brighter than the rest.

I wouldn't say without the talent...I read a lot of Bukowski too.

Good stuff, oddly enough I liked this part the most:
