Aiden is a lot better than a lot of bands on fellow-big labels. Their appearance may be funny, but their music isn't bad. It's a fun punk-pop/emocore run.

How can you take this band seriously? Just look at pictures of them. They almost look as ridiculous as Avenged Sevenfold. I don't know why bands think it's a good idea to dress like douchecakes.

Tell that to every emo scene kid I've seen in the past 6 months. You can't go to a show without seeing all of these kids in tight clothes with ugly hair, fucking pouting. It's not just the bands. Lots of kids are doing it. Aiden's stage appearance looks normal when you compare it to about 70% of what all of these kids are wearing as their everyday street clothes.

I'm glad I go to shows in NJ/PA/NY, because I don't see floods of what you describe. I definitely see more "punk dressed" kids at punk shows than "emo dressed kids" at "emo" shows.

Whatever though. Bands like to dress up.. they're on stage. Some bands like to incorporate visuals with their music.. it's nothing new, and it's not going away. Bands are on stage though.. kids aren't. No need to go crazy on the mascara kids-- male or female.

My point is that a good band doesn't need to dress like idiots to rock. They should let the music speak for themselves. Hot Water Music look like 4 normal dudes, yet their music beats the shit out of every band in this "scene" that wear mascara and shop in the women's department. The reason kids are wearing tight pants and have ugly haircuts is because they see bands doing it. If bands would just keep it real, kids in the scene would reflect that.

I agree. Also, most bands get judged on their looks. If they look like normal dudes, then people will think they play normal, boring music. You shouldnt judge a book by its cover. But then again, just by looking at some of these bands (like Aiden), you can tell their going to suck, and Aiden do...big time. Listen to the music first, and if you still feel the need to judge their look, then go ahead.

it appears you are signing bands that are thinly veiled copies of other more successful bands. while i am not in a band, i wear tiny girl jeans like william from the academy is (1), eyeliner/shadow a la my chem(2), make shirts and have alot of insecurities like pete from fob (3), and i love synthesizers like panic!(4) and motion city(5)...as you can see i have all the signature qualities of other, talented, successful bands. can i have a record contract?
