What do you think is the best war movie ever made? No particular war in general but I'm looking for some good ones to pick up. I got Saving Private Ryan the other day and am looking into buying Platoon.

Saving Private Ryan, however the greatest War anything ever would be Band of Brothers. Worth every penny man, if you don't have it, get it.

Band of Brothers is the best WWII series/movie/entertainment I have ever seen. Num 1 reccomendation.

Did anyone see Starship Troopers 2? Hands down the worst movie I have ever been exposed to in my entire life. The english language doesn't have a word that can describe how damn awful that movie was.

All Quiet is the one I couldn't remember. It's cool to see from a German prospetive. That's a really good one.

I like full metal jacket up until they get out of bootcamp then the movie kinda drags, but it still is very good. Tigerland is also a pretty good movie, plus its only like $5

i've always liked Great escape and escape to victory. but i do love Band of brothers, saving private ryan and Apocalypse now, ohhh, and full metal jacket - good movies but i'd probably have to go for:
Where eagles dare - Such a good film with Clint Eastwood and Richard Burton, good film, good plot, good cast and good twist!!!!!

really good low budget flick. it kind of had a bit of that cheesy morm-movie dialogue, but the cinematography was very good, and the action films were filmed very well.

Saving Private Ryan was great, but i was one of those people that thought it trodded a little bit in the middle.

The absolute best war movie is The Last Of The Mohicans, with Glory a close second
