Insanely underrated The Weakend (http://www.theweakend.com) will be going into the studio in a couple weeks to record 12 brand new demos for their upcoming album.

They're still unsigned? Whaaaat the fuck! How can a label listen to those 3 demos they put out, see them live, and not try to sign them?
On the bright side, new music from them is always nice.

yay! i think they're signed to silent movie records but its a super small label, it's only a matter of time until they're signed to a bigger one
i hear they turned down Warner Brothers because they wouldn't let them do what they wanted with their music, but again this is still unconfirmed
that band is soooooo good
i know this band's live show like the back of my hand.
lets hope the new stuff stacks up to the old.

I just listened to them for the first time and im blown away. They remind me a lot of This Providence. Anyone else think so?

I just listened to this band as well, they are generic catchy pop-punk, not much different than...
Houston Calls
Hit the Lights
Valencia
The Mile After
Count the Stars
and so on and so forth, but come on...everyone loves that music. It'll make for good walking music and good away message fodder, thank you for posting this, I have more music to listen to.

This band is far from generic if you actually listen to their EP and the three demos that were released a few months ago. To me, I think Boys Night Out's Trainwreck sounds like this band (yes, their EP was out before BNO's album). Also, the things (additional instruments, sounds, etc.) they incoporate into their sound along with the song structure, lyrics, etc. make this band stand out, at least in my personal opinion.

They remind me of Taking Back Sunday, Boys Night Out, This Providence and even Thrice (certain elements in certain songs you have to listenly closely for). Love these guys.

I beg to differ. They experiment with time changes and their songs are generally a lot longer and more complex than those bands you named. The lyrics are also better than those bands. Although, yes, it's nothing new, it's far from generic
That being said, I love this band, and I can't wait to hear new stuff.

This is indeed a great band. And as for being signed to Silent Movie, there is no formal contract with them. They just helped fond putting out the ep. I don't really see the new stuff coming out on SMR, but maybe.

those will be thrown in an old shoe box and put in the back of my closet and saved as b-sides. persay we put one out in the future. the new disk will be all hot new jams... get used to not listening to the ep anymore after this is out.
thanks for all the support.
