Hey does anyone know a good way to fix the red ring problem on the xbox without using a warranty? I really do not want to wait 4-6 weeks for a new one, and I am addicted to CoD4 and netflix.

Hit it as hard as you can with a hammer.

I didn't have a warranty and they still did it for free. I got it back around the 4th week.
You can try the towel trick. Google it.

You'll get it back within two weeks. Mine was gone for 10 days.

the home remedies usually never work (at least when my friends have tried it)
so i would just use the warranty

Just deal with sending it in. My xbox is a launch box that I bought off ebay and it was out of warranty when I sent it in... Microsoft still fixed it for free. It only took a couple weeks too. Go with long term and just use the warranty. Play at your friends house while it's being fixed... that's what I did and I was just fine.

Sounds like someone is going to benefit from not having an Xbox.

The 10 or so days you have without it gives you ample time to read a book, see a couple of movies, or in fact interact with people outside of the Marketplace.

Clearly if you play xbox you don't read books and have no social life.

Send it and get it fixed and then sell it. Buy a PS3

just to ruffle some feathers

Blah blah blah

He obviously sees a lot of movies since he mentioned that he's obsessed with Netflix

Agreed, though, I hate that PS3 owners are missing out on the new TMNT arcade game.

I still haven't played WaW. I play way too much FIFA and I miss out on a lot of good games.

Ooo I do love me some Fifa though.

Damn, sorry to bug, but I'm at work. Any alternate links or sites that have info.
Just by the title I'm already jealous as shit. I loved the TMNT arcade game. It was either that or X-Men. Only reason I loved Chuckie Cheese.

Looks like PS3 owners are getting it, but XBOX 360 gets it first as a timed exclusive. Good news.

My XBOX got the red rings last year. It only took about 1 1/2 weeks to go there and back, not bad.

yeah the only thing is that I like to play it while I am still home for the summer (I go back to college in August) and I just want the quickest way to get it fixed. I heard of the towel method, how does that work?

The towel method is for GIVING the xbox red rings, not fixing them. The quickest way is to send it to xbox. Or check around your state for some places that might fix it, but they'll charge you an asshole of money.

The best way to fix a broken Xbox360 is a brand new PS3
