I'm trying to help out a band from my hometown. They're not punk, they're an acoustic rock group, so I don't think it would make sense to promote them on boards like this since they're a totally different genre. I need other ways to get their name out there through the internet. One of the main things they are trying to do is to schedule a tour for this summer, but some places are requiring that they have a local fan base before they can play there. One of those places is in Alexandria, VA...pretty far away from me! So the only way I can think to promote them to this area is somewhere online. Does anyone have any ideas, or can anyone think of anything that could possibly help? I'm open to pretty much anything right now. I've already gone to websites of some similar groups and singers and posted about them, but that hasn't helped the fact that we need fans in specific areas like that. Any help would be appreciated!! They currently don't have their songs on their website, but their mp3.com site is in the process of being approved.
