Paul Pierce to join Team USA Basketball for 2008 Olympics

Paul Pierce said he learned yesterday there was a very important letter waiting for him in Boston. Enclosed in the envelope is an invitation to join Team USA for a training camp starting July 18 and a contract outlining a three-year commitment in preparation for the 2008 Olympics. Pierce has every intention of signing the contract and participating in the training camp. ''I'm just happy to have the opportunity," Pierce said last night at the US Airways Center. ''I want to be one of the top guys in the camp come July. Good, maybe the US team won't freeze him out like the East did in the All Star game. he's having the best season of his career and its almost going un-noticed.

All i want is a team USA that can hand an ass-kicking to other countries like we did back in the 90's. I forgot who it was, but one of the players was talking about how the opposing team would be asking them for their autographers after the game. Now that's sweet.
