Great band. New album Ignore The Ignorant out later this Summer as well as a new tour. With Johnny Marr (The Smiths) being a new addition to the band during recent shows as well as for the writing/recording of this new album they seem to only get better and better.
New song "We Were Aborted" available for free download from their website here (http://www.thecribs.com), or you can stream it below:

Cannot wait to hear this album. One of my favourite bands. Loved and followed since their debut and they just seem to get better. Great live show too.
Any other fans/people looking forward to this release?

Sounds like The Smiths crossed with Sonic Youth to me, great track.

Agreed, think it will reall bring them a new status, especially because of Johnny Marr.
Love this band, really looking forward to the new album.

Same, really cannot wait. I prefer "We Were Aborted" to "Cheat On Me" out of the songs released so far, but I have no doubt it will be a great album.
I haven't really been following the new stuff (just gonna be patient), but I listened to MNWNW yesterday and it's still one of my favorites. Great album art, too.

Are you a fan of their early stuff too? I highly recommend their DVD, it's so so good. 3 discs, each disc has a night at a venue where they played an album in full, in order, using the equipment they used at the time of recording/touring said album and wearing the clothes from that era too then finishing the set each night with any b-sides or rarities. So disc 1 - The Cribs ,2 - The New Fellas and 3 - MNWNW. It's great and has talks with the band and Johnny Marr, their manager, Alex Kapranos etc:

That sounds like a dream DVD for any band. That's really awesome. I haven't heard much of their earlier stuff but I'm sure I'll love it. I'm definitely gonna check it out now, thanks.

Sure, I highly recommend their first two albums, much looser and more raw, but I saw them live a couple times around those albums and it was incredible.

I'm going to try and find them this week then. I just watched that video and it inspired me to take out my guitar and learn "Shoot the Poets" hahaha.

I want to hear a cover of this, with a Wakefield accent put on too.

I may just do that eventually, when I get my mic working. However, the accent probably won't be Wakefield hahahaha. Though, I have to say, for some odd reason when I sing covers of bands like the Kooks, I tend to sing like they do. So after enough listens I may be able to have some sort of accent.

Haha, brilliant. I definitely want to hear this. You got anything recorded generally?

Yeah, but it's pretty shitty. If I recorded this song, it would be much better than what I already have. I only used a mic for the past recordings.

Such a good band, cannot wait for the tour and for the new album, so excited. Gary just had his throat surgery too, recovering at the moment.

Yeah really cannot wait for the album, Johnny Marr has had a great influence on them, I think. This is him talking about them from their DVD, before he joined the band:

They get better and better, but I enjoy each ablum on a different level, I still love their debut the same as I love Men's Needs... but in very different ways. It's been awesome following them from the beginning and seeing this huge progression each album.

Listening to In The Belly Of The Brazen Bull so much recently whilst it's still not a favourite due to my hard love for the first 2/3 it's really good. Also watching the DVD I mentioned earlier in this thread this week with some drinks and friends. Love the band so much, an all time favourite.
