haha yeah, I don't quite believe what Jesse said, but it wouldn't be the first time AP has been scooped by a band member.

Robbers opened for them. I only heard about 2 songs, but they seemed pretty decent. Kinda reminded me of Colour Revolt in some ways.

It was the best concert I've ever been to in my life. Plus, I've been wanting to see them play "Seventy Times 7" for a little over 2 years now, and it finally happened tonight. It was incredible.

Also, I did not like either "Bride" or "Gasoline" before tonight (watching numerous videos on youtube, both acoustic and full band). Those two songs though, are absolutely incredible. Watching them live completely changed my mind about them. Very excited for Sept. 22nd.

Was Jude Law full band?? Pretty weak if so cus they should have played that on the UK tour. It's been 6 years since I've seen them do that song

Agreed. I had seen about 30 seconds of each on some shitty YouTube video and wasn't impressed, but they were damn good live, especially one right into the other like they did.

It was full band. The only song that wasn't was Soco, that was just Jesse by himself on stage with his guitar (and some massive crowd participation, I might add).

Indeed!

he played that one track instead of Mix Tape and 70x7 at the show I saw the other week, fairly dissapointing really.. but still great

I have to agree that Bride sounded so fucking amazing last night. Really really pumped for it now after seeing it live, as I was a little questionable after the youtube videos I've seen.

Meh. Now that I've seen them play Deja cover to cover, I don't have the desire to see them again, seeing as it will never top that show.

Well you're missing out, because I've seen them at least 10 times, and this was right up there with that set on the best I've ever seen them play. They were so energetic and seemed to actually be happy that they were doing this and appreciative that we were there to watch.

Anyway, here's a review of the show from Time Out Chicago, in case anyone wants to know more about what it was like:

Eh, it's hard for me to justify seeing bands live multiple times unless they're in my top 10 or so. If they're not my very favorite (or put on an incredible show the first time), I'd rather spend the money to see someone I've never seen before.

Odd, i heard or read somewhere that they were going to slow down A LOT on their old stuff. I think i heard Jesse say it in the beggining of a live song.

Lame/stupid. The Ataris tried to do that, too. I don't care if that's the direction your new stuff is headed, chances are the old songs will sound terrible unless they completely rearrange them, which I doubt they'll do.

I dont know man, ill try to find the track i was talking about but i think the reason why he said it was something about how they didnt really feel those songs too much anymore and they couldnt beleive they wrote them because their style has changed so mcuh.

Hmm. I still love YFW. But it's not like they immediately and drastically changed their sound; there was a pretty predictable progression there.

Yeah, theres tracks in there that give you a heads up to where they are headed you know. But I think its a live accoustic thing for this online radio and Jesse is playing eather Degausser or Limosinne, i think its Degausser because before he plays Limosinne he tells the story about Kate.

Kids offering 300 bucks to people on line to get into the chicago show? If someone offers me anywhere near that amount tomorrow in Brooklyn, I'll gladly take it!
