Your friend is probably just wanting to be included in that part of your life, and since he either doesn't agree with or understand the band/ interests he is acting in such a way. Often times people just want to be included and this may be his way of reaching out. Maybe think about what you do share in common, and how you guys can have time together too. Or make him see how fun or interesting the band is and introduce each other to new things. Being friends with different people is what life is all about. Just talk it out.
