Thursday (www.thursday.net) needs your help! If you ,or anybody you know, possess a video of any of their television appearances (MTV, MTV2, Fuse, Conan, etc.) send them a message on Myspace.com ( http://www.myspace.com/thursday).

shouldn't it be "is" since it's one band. or would it be "are" since there are more than one persons.

singular.
it depends on whether you are referring to the group as a collective whole or arereferring to each individual member of the group, in which case use the plural "are"

i love my AP English class.

i'm not trying to start a fight here, but i don't think it's as clear cut as you make it seem. Because, for example, when I talk about seeing Thursday in concert I don't say "I can't wait to see IT", I say "I can't wait to see THEM"

but for real, who really cares, the "rules" of grammar are really just guidelines anyway. I'll leave you with what Churchill supposedly said in response to the "rule" against ending a sentence with a preposition: "This is the sort of English up with which I will not put."

p.s. Thursday rules!
