Casket Salesmen (http://www.casketsalesmen.com) has posted another new song titled "Peace Monger" on their MySpace (http://www.myspace.com/casketsalesmen) page. Below is a message from the band:
We lied. We know we said we were going to release a song a week. But we got bored and mixed another song earlier than expected. Here's the second song from our demo sessions. It's called "Peace Monger". It's a bit harder edged and get's spacey in the middle. Hope you enjoy it. More to come shortly.

nice band name...
From philpirrone.com: I figure I have some "es-plaining" to do.
I can't say I didn't expect the negative comments and feedback on the name, Casket Salesmen. When I thought of it, It wasn't to represent death in the same vein as a metal band or screamo band would. Like I've mentioned before, that is not really representative of me as a person.
It was to represent my accepting of death. Until recently, I've been scared of death. Now, I am not. No longer am I afraid of dying and moving on to the next plane.
Death has always been continually tapping me on the shoulder, reminding me, "I'm coming.........soon".
When I was two, I lost my brother. When he was 17 he was shot and killed for no reason. My grandpa passed away after something like 5 strokes..... poor guy. My grandma thinks she's dying, even though she'll most likely outlive us all. My best friend growing up lost his dad when he was 4. When he was 16, His mom's new husband (who had been around since he was like 6) died, he lost two dads....... in one lifetime. Jesus.........Christ. I am sure everyone can relate to this kind of loss. Seeing as we all die, and what not.
Another thing about me that you should know, it'll make the name seem wayyyy more relevant.....i promise. I recently came closer to death than I've ever come before. I was in a car crash, I flew out of the car. Went into a coma, I dunno. Looked bleak for a few hours. But then it was ok. I broke a bunch of stuff, stuff was removed (organs - my spleen. My liver was repaired and is still regenerating), stuff is still broken and my clavicle and ribs are fucked up, they pop out where they didn't pop out before. It's weird. But, life goes on.
My point is, death is inevitable. It's gonna happen, so why waste the time we have while were here focused on bullshit that doesn't matter (IE: money, material things, etc.) and thinking about how to prevent or avoid this INEVITABLE situation. Some people think it's the end. I think it's the end if you let it be. I think death can be a new frontier if you let it. If you open your soul to be able to evolve into the next plane of existence, You can be on a level of existing, like you and I have never experienced before. Christians' idea of this is heaven and meeting God. To me, this plane I am speaking of is achieved by living a genuine, caring, & giving life here on earth. One with good karma. I also believe, if your karma is fucked so is your post existence. I may sound like a whacko to some of you, but ya know what? I could give a shit. Sorry, that was a little harsh. But, it's kinda how I feel. If you don't like me or what I do or say, then carry on....... don't waste your own precious time by bashing me on the internet. Or do it.......It doesn't make a difference to me. If it makes you happier then bash me on the internet, sometimes it provides me with a hearty laugh. But I don't judge or think anyone is better or worse than anyone.
Soooooo, by this point of the letter you must be asking yourself, what the fuck does the name mean then??? Well, to answer that simply, I think the people who sell caskets gotta have a pretty crazy outlook on life and death after working around it for so long........
I feel like even though I haven't been profiting off of death, I've been bettered by being surrounded by it. It's helped me accept that it's going to happen to us all. We are here to open minds and help people realize that they can evolve into a less materialistic and more genuine type of person. I know that's not exactly what a casket salesmen does. An actual casket salesmen probably isn't a very good thing to be......... taking advantage of people when their loved ones die......... but, I think if you have a sense of humor...... an imagination, and a little wit, you'll understand what we mean by calling the band Casket Salesmen.
Literally, a casket salesmen sells deathbeds........ preparing the dead for their eternal rest. Figuratively speaking, we're Casket Salesmen. We'll try to open your mind and your heart to accept things you never thought you could.
Also, Nate just thought it had a nice ring to it.
There's a saying that goes: He who knows little, speaks much. He who knows much, speaks little. I don't know it all, I'm only 21. I am not enlightened yet. I've only begun to work on it. Don't believe everything I say, don't believe everything you read, make your own thoughts and opinions. If you agree or relate to anything I post here, great! If you disagree completely, that's ok too. I post this on my website because my website is a place for my thoughts to be shared with those who care.
If it seems like I'm talking down to anyone in this post, I apologize. It's not what I'm trying to do.
We started this band only as an outlet of sincerity and love for making sounds together that take us away from thought and reason and bullshit and takes us to another realm.......We wanna share a little piece of that with all of you. Shit, we wanna share a big piece of that with you. We hope that serves as a tool to help you live a fuller life. That's the best we can hope for. Fuck fame. Fuck fortune. Starting a band just to be in a band, or to become famous, or to be cool, or to get chicks or for money is the stupidest thing I've ever heard and unfortunantly it's the only type of music we are force fed here in America.......Have you noticed how most bands that get big are fucking shoved down these impressionable kids throats??? Yah, it's easy to sell 200,000 - 1,000,000 records when your market is 14 year old girls and boys who don't care about music, because American Media has gotten so bad that all these kids have to look up to is BLING THIS AND FAME THAT AND CRIBS THIS AND FUCKING MONEY MONEY MONEY, IMAGE IMAGE IMAGE. Money doesn't equal happy. Remember kids, MONEY..........DOESN'T EQUAL HAPPY.
Seeing the curtain close so many times makes the show all the more immediate.
Thanks for reading this. I hope it gives the name more pertinence. Take care and live life.

Wow, i'm really digging this. I'm surprised people aren't jumping on this. I could totally see Randy (ex-Finch) doing music in this same vein and i'm sure everyone will jump on that, so it's just confusing why people don't like this. Maybe its just cause people hated ASL's last album so much they are bringing that hate over to Nate and Phil as well...

well i dont see this band breaking out but at least they sound happy
and im sure they would rather be happy with a non popular band
than with asl.
so hats off to them
also i really like the reasoning for the name
and i like the name over all
so im taking it the other guitarist/singer is still in ASL????????

This is alright. The vocals sort of bother me though.
