Misguided directions

lost on this map
with nowhere to go
you are the treacherous boundary
i can not surpass,
you are my legend
but give me no keys
i'll find out on my own
if you're the one that wants me
you are the mountain i must climb
to see if the grass is greener on the other side
you are the road less traveled
the road that will lead me to answers
i'll run through your valleys
searching for some clues
im following your directions
so i can't be the one to blame
one day ill find my way
and end up at my destination
at the top of the mountain i can see it all
and i will find my way to the promised land
i will go where x marks the spot
and wait till the time is right
