I think this is by far one of the better and more original shows on television now. It does branch off of the whole crime scene genre but instead of actually going through the physicality of it. It solves the "crime" by going getting into and understanding the minds of other people. Theres just something about that that intrigues me.

Other than the first CSI I was never really into the crime/procedural shows on CBS, but I really like this one. And now I can actually watch it since Lost moved to 10. WRONG. The FBI has many Criminal Profilers, that do nothing but profile criminals. Don't speak unless you know. As for other branches of Law enforcement, i.e. state agencys they might use Criminal Profiling tecniques but if they really need it done the case is sent to the FBI.

No, the FBI does not a position by the name of "Profiler." You can look that up yourself. And they have very few people that are actually a part of the field to which you are referring. Criminal profiling is not at all like television portrays. I haven't seen the show that spawned this thread, but everything else I've seen has been inaccurate. It seems that I wasn't clear in my first post, but I hope that I am now.

I'd love to see this show intoduce a new serial killer and track him over the season though, instead of just wrapping things up in one or two episodes, that's my only real complaint about the show.
I really like that they wrap things up in an episode or two because then anyone can come in and pick up in the middle of the season and not have missed a whole bigger conflict. That was the case with me. However, now that I'm into the show, I wouldn't mind seeing a bigger conflict stretch on a little longer.
There's something about this show that's so incredibly intriguing. So many intense events packed into each show. I hate missing even two seconds because everything is connected so even little things that they figure out mean something too.
I really REALLY loved the whole thing about Reid and his dad. I thought that was so interesting and intense, I get so into it when I watched it. I also really loved the episode this past week with Jason Alexander, the whole number pattern thing was so cool. Stoked for tonight! :]

Oh my gosh yes, this one was intense, as per the usual. However, it wasn't as ridiculously incredible as some of the past few episodes have been.
To me personally, I think few episodes are going to beat out the episodes concerning Reid's dad if any.

Yes! I agree. I can't believe that Haley died. The end of the episode, when Hotch was sobbing, broke my heart. I'm glad that Jack is still alive, though. It would be really messed up if The Reaper found and killed him too. Then, Hotch would have no one left.

100 was amazing. Definitely a great show. As for the guy who said that "profiler" isn't a position in the FBI, I know it was a long time ago, but you should probably do some research on John Douglas and the FBI's Behavioral Sciences Unit.

Yeah, the Criminal Minds BAU team is a little more glamorized. So are the labs and work in CSI, CSI:NY and CSI: Miami. But the BAU is very much based upon the work of Douglas and the FBI's BSU. David Rossi is a character built from John Douglas himself.

Yeah, that's true. I thought they would be glad, though, that she encrypted the file that had all of their information on it, since a hacker wouldn't be able to get to them.

He is adorable when he does magic! That line made me laugh. I liked when he told the bartender that his card was behind her barrette, smooth one Reid.

Michael Ausiello has scooped a rundown of the main characters for the proposed Criminal Minds spin-off. Without filming scheduled to begin in Spring 2010, CBS should start announcing the cast soon.

Cooper is the B-team’s leader, a middle-aged alpha male who’s as loyal to his team as he is sketchy about his past. How come he’s laid so low for nearly a decade?

Gina escaped the mean streets of Baltimore, only to wind up being sent back to them as an undercover agent. After her father died not knowing she hadn’t really fallen in with a bad crowd, she quit the FBI until Cooper re-recruited her.

Ex-British Special Forces operative Mick, 30, a sniper who’s as good with words as he is with a firearm.

Prophet, also in his 30s, is a born-again African-American ex-con who’s eager to clean the slate he so completely filled pre-prison.

It would be cool if they had some of the characters of the original kind of show up randomly in the spinoff, since they are probably working in the same building.

I've also been getting the vibe that they are really trying to go for the "things that would almost never happen in real life" schtick to get more viewers, like the doll episode and the next one with the fairytale thing. Those are my favorite. I think I sympathize more with the unsubs who were beaten or abused when they were little, which explains why they do what they do. I don't like when the unsubs kill just to kill. I like when there is a backstory to the unsub.

Then that night I had a dream that Jesse Lacey (yes, Jesse Lacey of Brand New) shot my sister and I in the head! When I woke up, I wasn't freaked out or anything. I just thought I watch too much Criminal Minds. lol!
