Lately I've been in a blu-ray phase in which i want to own all my favorites, but of course my dollar balance kind of brings me down. I just wanted to make this thread so us blu-ray junkies can exchange words about Blu-Ray releases and maybe share deals we might come across.
Does anyone have the Godfather trilogy on blu-ray?

It's like PIP viewing of the movie w/ the director in the corner talking about all the shit that's going on.

I need to find a cheap Blu-ray player, one that I can buy for my dad so I can take over his PS3, which he doesn't use for games.
Any suggestions of something of similar quality?

Watchmen is going to be so good on Blu-ray. Planet Earth still reigns king over any other release though, along with Band of Brothers.

Good place for deals on BR discs.

I use this to see reviews of BR movies to make sure that they're worth the upgrade from the dvd version (audio/picture quality, etc.).

Yeah the blu-ray.com site is good because it shows screenshots for almost every movie and it gives you an idea of what the movie will look like.

No. Ps3 is the best Blu-ray player on the market. Do yourself a favor and save allowance for a few more weeks and don't skimp on getting a nice player, be it standalone or Playstation 3.

Unfortunately some of us have to use their allowance to pay for rent, school, food, etc.
My dad doesn't have HD reception, so I wouldn't think having the best Blu-ray player would be all that helpful.

I only have one movie on Blu-Ray so far: Spider-Man 3. This is because I don't have an HD TV yet. :( That will hopefully change very soon, though.

Both Band Of Brothers and Planet earth are two of the most visually amazing things I've seen. Blu-Ray is awesome.

And their Hot Deals forum is often very helpful.
