has contributed not necesarily "the most" but at least a good deal of bands to the "punk" scene recently.
I would have to represent, and go with the NJ/NY area

Coheed and Cambria- Upstate NY
Movielife, TBS, Brand New, etc.- Long Island
Saves the Day, Thursday, Lifetime, Bouncing Souls, Catch22, and
(i dare say)Midtown- NJ

I think the mass majority of bands have come from Cal. but the best quality bands come form the east coast (ny area.)

the northeast for sure, just because so cal puts out a hundered generic shitty bands a year doesn't mean they contribute anything, why do people keep mentioning yellowcard like they're so amazing, they're not

no good punk bands come from maryland. Abuncha rap people do ...that they suck. Good charlotte was from here but theres alot of diff opinions on if that would be good or bad

alot of shitty bands are comong from cali now. i mean, do you think well see another bad religion come from there? probably not.

the best place in PA is probably pittsburg.
