Coldplay (http://www.coldplay.com) has an album's worth of new material and are planning to record it in London in the near future. Also, they have chosen"The Hardest Part" as their next single and will be released in April. You can read more about it here (http://www.nme.com/news/coldplay/22321).

The Hardest Part is a good one.

Wasn't NME the site that reported the hiatus? God, I learn to hate that place more and more everyday.

am i the only one who thinks that the opening piano "riff" as i call it, from "Speed of Sound" sounds exactly like the opening part of "Clocks"?

nope. i thought the same exact thing when i first heard speed of sound. i think theyve got some great songs, but its hard to respect a band that keeps redoing what theyve already done before.

haha... silly wabbits... i see what your saying, yet...

The only relationship i see between them is the fact that there is piano there... Speed of Sound has a guitar doing the same melody in the background and the melody isn't straight 8th notes like Clocks is.

Hard to respect a band that is able to keep a signature sound? Hardly hard to respect. I respect Blink eventhough all their songs are written w/ the same chord progression. And there are a billion other good bands that feed off their old songs and melodies. I think thats what makes it cool when you can draw comparisons to old albums and such. Just my view on it...

But seriously, "The Hardest Part" is the best song on the album.

No, you're not, but they even admitted that the two songs sound similair because "Speed of Sound" was the first song they wrote for X&Y so it bridged a gap between the two albums.
