The following is a mini interview of generic questions that we posed to all bands that wanted to answer.
Forget Paris (Adam Ferrari) [myspace (http://www.myspace.com/forgetparis)] [ap.net profile (http://www.absolutepunk.net/artists/showlink.php?l=6451)]
1. How did you get your band name?
I came across the band name when I was sick one
day. I was cruising through the pay channels and
"Forget Paris" starring Billy Crystal was on. I told
the guys and it just kind of stuck.
2. How did this band get started?
The band started when Tyler and I met at one of
his band's last shows. We subsequently started
hanging out a lot and working on music even more. We
pulled in the bassist from my band, the drummer from
his band joined as well and Forget Paris was born.
3. What bands are you influenced by?
Myself, I'm influenced a lot by Third Eye Blind
and Hot Rod Circuit. Stephen Jenkins and Andy Jackson
are two people whose lyrics really stick out and I
always thought that was rad. I also love Fleetwood Mac
and Copeland.
4. If you could tour with any bands, past or present,
who would it be and why?
I would without a doubt, hands down love to tour
with three bands. Days Away, Gavin Degraw, and Coheed.
Now is that a tour or what?!
5. If you were a furry, what animal would you be? Why
that animal?
A Koala because I would have the easiest most
chill life ever created.
6. Why should people listen to your band?
Because we want people to share in the emotion
that we put into our songs.
7. If you were chosen to be in Guitar Hero/Rock Band,
what song would you want in the game? How hard do you
think it would be to five-star on expert?
We have this song called, "General Arnold, Your
Autograph Please." Tyler and I always joke that it was
made for Guitar Hero. I think it would be moderately
difficult on Expert, there are a lot of rhythmic
changes within the actual riff itself but who knows?
8. If you won a Grammy, who would you thank?
God, My parents, My Band, Megan, etc.
9. If you could change something about the music
industry, what would it be?
It's conservative nature, changing with the times
is key for prolonged survival.
10. Memorable tour experience?
This one time on tour with our friends The Ghost
Sonata, we got them real bad. We stole the trailer
they were using while in Vermont. They were already
onstage playing so it was really easy and freaked them
out for a little bit. Then a couple days later, we
broke into their van, toilet papered, put balloons and
silly string in it. Most fun I've ever had.
11. What does AP.net mean to you?
An opportunity to get our music and name across
to people who have never heard us before. The best
Indie music news site on the web, hands down. A good
outlet for kids to network and make endless amounts of
new friends.
12. What is your favorite song to play?
We wrote this new one that is going to be
featured on our album called, "Tales from the
Mezzanine." I just love the flow and feel of it.
13. What is your vacation spot of choice?
Wildwood, NJ. I've been going there since I was
three years old every summer. Morey's Piers,
represent.
14. What music reminds you of your childhood?
My Dad grew up on the Beatles so he ingrained
that into my skull for as long as I can remember. The
Temptations and the Four Tops were a couple other acts
that come to mind. My parents always taught me to have
an open mind when it comes to music so they exposed me
to many different types of it.
15. If you could have any super power, what would it
be? Why?
The power to fly because I am so scared of
heights and death due to aircraft failure.
16. Do you feel that your band has "made it"?
I feel that Forget Paris is doing what we love to
do. We are making music we love to play, funding our
own tours and merchandise. In that respect I feel that
we've "made it" because not many bands have the funds
to do that, but I know that our career is just
beginning.
17. What is something that most fans don't know about
you?
I was going to pursue a career in baseball as a
First basemen and I can't snap with my left hand nor
whistle.
18. What's your favorite holiday?
Christmas, family drama and presents, who can ask
for more than that?
19. What do you like to do in your spare time?
Play endless amounts of video games, read books,
eat cashews, and search for deals on Amazon.com
20. What kind of hidden talents do you have?
Umm, I can do a hand stand and a front flip while
in a pool.
