with all this talk about Panic (!) being split into two and what there new sound will be like from the two albums, ive noticed most ppl seem to be fairly split down the middle which albums style they preferred

personally i went nuts for Fever, while still liking Pretty Odd (it was cruisy n nice to play when hungover etc, n had some mad songs like northern downpour) i was into Fever more as it was funner and everyone rocked out hard when those songs came on at rock clubs

no option for liking both equally... so there! :P

I liked Pretty. Odd. alot more the AFYCSO. I loved the Beatlesness of it. Alot of the songs on Fever just bored me, although it had some gems.

Both albums are so different it's hard to judge. But I think I listen to Pretty.Odd more than the debut though both albums are great. I'm defiantly looking forward to both of the new projects by these guys.

I definitely loved both and it's difficult to choose, because the two styles were so different. But currently, if I had to choose probably AFYCSO.

Although, Live In Chicago just combines the two :P

pretty. odd. may just be a beatles rip off but it showed a huge progression from the band. they were actually attempting to write lyrics that were good, not just "clever", or whatever bullshit term the Fall Out Boy crowd are using these days to excuse their favorite band's shitty lyrics. true, the results were often terrible but at least they were trying. musically, the album is a really interesting pop record. huge choruses. i like pretty. odd. a lot better.

i liked pretty.odd. and i will listen to it when i'm in more a melancholy mood, but Fever is what made me like panic and it still is a great jam from beginning to end in any mood.

loved both albums for different reasons. i loved fever, it was different than anything that i really heard at the time, and it was good in a creative and catchy kind of way. i loved pretty. odd because of how original it was and how musically-impressive it was. i love both albums but i think pretty. odd wins the race for me. i still spin both albums today, panic just doesn't disappoint.

Fall Out Boy's shitty lyrics? I actually looked at Fall Out Boy as being pretty creative the first time I heard their "clever" lyrics. Wouldn't shitty be writing lyrics that directly rip off another bands writing style? *cough* The Beatles *cough*

I'm sorry, but that opening song on Pretty. Odd. is so Sgt. Pepper sounding (musically and lyrically) that it makes me sick.

Pretty. Odd. still has yet to get old for me whereas I couldn't listen to Fever anymore after like 2 weeks.

Yeah, Fall Out Boy writes shitty lyrics. Any 15-17 year old could write them.

this.

I chose Fever though, because I think the's two different sounds (electronic and ragtime) were very complimentary, and it was a little more creative on their part.

Let's just say Pretty. Odd. is the best ttile for that CD.

true, no one else (or at least ive heard of) sounded anything like that, where Odd is a plain Beatles rip off

i liked both, AFYCSO just did more for me at the time it came out. Pretty. Odd was ok, it was hardly something you can compare to bands doing that 'Beatles' sound.

I never got into Pretty. Odd. but that's cuz I listened to the singles and it didn't do it for me. Any songs on the album that I should give a spin before I even think about purchasing the album?

My personal favorites from Pretty. Odd would be Northern Downpour and She Had the World. Behind the Sea is another good one if you don't mind Ryan's vocals.

Fever. All the songs on Pretty. Odd. bleed together to me, and the lack of creativity leaves me bored. I hated Ryan Ross's lyrics on PO. I could tolerate them most times on Fever, though.

Pretty. Odd. Just cause I wasn't really a PATD fan to really begin with. I guess it just grabbed my attention more than AFYCSO did.

Although being catchy and having a few standout tracks, Fever is overall a mediocre, trendy, forgettable album.

Pretty.Odd. is a huge, vibrant, melodic, 60's influenced pop-rock album with a certain charm to it not heard in modern bands nowadays.

Hmm... I wonder which one I'd choose.
