was thinkin about some cd's originally got, wasnt a fan of 1st listen or didnt do much for me to start with but then got into months or in cases a year later, some where by bands already liked some where ones that were new
The Used - S/T (was only into first 3songs when 1st came out, then picked up 6months later n loved it)
Dashboard - Poison Trees (loved this band hugely, liked Dusk & Summer heaps, was let down with this, spun it a few more times 2years later, n stoked on it, still not my fav but no so let down as when first got)
Tool - Lateralus (recommended by a friend, couldnt get into it, seriously after about 15th listen was obsessed)
HIM - greatest hits (same with Tool)
NFG - Coming Home (was shattered when it was all slow, few months later was now is up there with S/T and S&S as my favs by them)
Parkway Drive - Killing With A Smile (i just wasnt adapated to music this heavy when first hearing it)

The Blood Brothers - ...Burn Piano Island, Burn
Heard about 4 years ago, didn't like at all.
Heard again last year, I like it a lot now.

Jimmy Eat World - Bleed American. I listened to it once when I first got it, apparently didn't care for it, and passed it off as a bad buy. Wow, even though I was like ten, I was still dumb. Now my favorite band.
Brand New - Deja Etendu. I don't think I even listened to it at all when I got it when it first came out. I didn't even realize I owned it until a year or two ago when I saw the album artwork on the Internet, knew it looked familiar, and looked everywhere for it.

I didn't overly care for Blue by Third Eye Blind at first, but it's great. Also, Plans by Death Cab for Cutie, and In Defense of the Genre are both albums that I liked but have grown to love.

This also. I liked it the first time I heard it, listened to "The Middle" a million times like everyone else did (actually proud that I bought that album like a year before that song hit the fan), but they're probably my favorite too. Great album.

I don't even remember when exactly I got it, but I was definitely young. Must've gotten it with birthday money or something. I remember getting mad because I considered it a waste of money for the longest time. I ended up liking it by the end of the year though, after I went back to it. Of course I didn't like it in the same way I do now (now that I actually know something about music other than "this is so catchy! Woo for everything on the radio!").
Also, I don't think I was a big fan of Blue either. Love it now.

Husker Du - New Day Rising
Thought it was kind of boring when I first got it but I really warmed up to it over time. It's what I've been listening to the most the past couple of days!

Oh, I almost forgot, Katy Perry - One Of The Boys. I was definitely adamant about not liking Katy Perry when I Kissed A Girl played on the radio every half hour, and when a friend made me listen to Ur So Gay. But eventually I gave the album a chance, and while I still only gave it about a 75%, I listen to it on a daily basis. Too bad the songs I like the most didn't make it on the actual album. Still catchy as shit.
It also took me years to get into Matchbox Twenty.
The Dillinger Escape Plan - Ire Works.
I didn't like it at all after the first listen, but now it's one of my all time favourites.

The Receiving End of Sirens - Between the Heart and the Synapse.
I think I bought it because it was recommended after I bought the first Circa Survive album.
I think I had it for a good 18 to 24 months before I tried it and it was great.
The thing that threw me off was the beginning of the first real song....that drum part sucked, but then the rest of the album is great.

Panic at the Disco - A Fever You Can't Sweat Out
I bought it when it was first released and just disliked the majority of it upon first listen. I listened to it occasionally in the build up to Pretty Odd and still just really couldn't get into it. I found myself really enjoying the new record and came back to give A Fever You Can't Sweat Out another listen literally a few days ago and I'm really, really liking it.

Bearvsshark - I bought Terrorhawk and didn't like it, but still put it on my mp3 player, then about 3 monthes later a song came on shuffle and I loved it. It's one of my favorites now.
No Age - I heard hype about this band last year and downloaded Weirdo Rippers. I thought it was garbage. I just re-listened a couple days ago and realized I'm retarded.

Took me three years to get into, a friend of mine gave it to me when I was in the seventh grade, didn't do much for me at all then, but I relistened to it after a terrible breakup with a girl in late '07, I couldn't stop listening to it.

Oh yeah, The Rocket Summer definitely had to grow on me. I first heard them when I saw them as openers at a show, and while the set was fun I thought his voice was extremely annoying. Some of the songs remained stuck in my head though, and I picked up the album a few weeks later and really liked it.

Since I tend to do this with a whole band's body of work as apposed to single albums, I'll just list the bands:
Fall Out Boy
My Chemical Romance
Bring Me The Horizon
Parkway Drive
Suicide Silence
Converge (now one of my two favourite bands)
The Wonder Years
Bloc Party
The Devil Wears Prada
Enter Shikari
Brand New
Deftones
Taking Back Sunday
A lot of these were due to a phase I went through from about 13-16 where I only listened to "true" metal, and slagged everything else off. I wouldn't have been caught dead even mentioning FOB, MCR, or BMTH in a sentence without the words that followed being of hate toward them. So essentially I'm now getting into all the music that everyone was into 3 to 4 years ago when they were 14 and 15, whilst still listening to what I used to as well. Better late than never i guess.

Gotta love Arrested Development, there are too many good things to say about it.

Lost in The Sound Of Separation - Underoath.
Idk why, I just couldn't get into it. It seemed too different than They're Only Chasing Safety for example.
But now, I'm listening to it in full everyday xD.
Singularity - Mae.
The only song I loved right away was Just Let Go. I miss the piano melodies that were so present in The Everglow for example.
But, after forcing myself to listen to it for a few months, I'm finally attached to it.

The Silence In Black and White by Hawthorne Heights
I originally bought it put it into my CD player and was shocked at how awful it was. The first two songs where unbearable to listen to...I gave it another shot the next day and yet again could not sit through the whole CD....so I put the CD in with all the others I had and didn't listen to it over 3 months....then one day I wanted some music while I was playing Tony Hawk...I seriously could not understand why I had hated the album

Funeral for a Friend - Memory And Humanity. Well, Hours and Tales Don't Tell Themeselves caused the same reaction that can be described as a disappointment, but some time later it turned out to be great and end up on favourite releases of the year lists.

As for their second album? (Pretty.Odd.)
Well.
I'm still waiting to warm up to that.
I still hate Fever. I actually liked it when I heard the Purevolume demos and when the album first came out, but I was also in middle school and liked crappy music. I can't even go back to that album. I cringe every time I hear Lying Is The Most Fun. They were actually pretty decent when I saw them open for The Academy Is... back in 2005 or 2006. They were a lot more tolerable live than now. I can't stand what he does with his voice live anymore.
I thought Pretty. Odd. was a lot better. Still around a C+ effort, and it didn't have much lasting power for me, but I did enjoy Northern Downpour quite a bit.

Definitely. TSL was one of the first bands to 'mature' from straight high-school pop punk and I just wasn't ready to grow up with them. When I finally did and revisited it, it clicked.

Bon Iver - For Emma, Forever Ago, I didn't like when I first heard it. His voice sounded odd and the music seemed too quiet and fragile. Went back and listened to it a few months later and fell in love.

Aha. Yes took me a while to get into Brand New at all to be honest. I had to really work on them to find something i liked, however the first album, which i feel is drastically different in its sound to the following two records, was an instant hit for me, helped get me into the band and enjoy the latter two albums.
