This is a song I just wrote. It's not finished yet, so any opinions/criticism is greatly appreciated.

you're always afraid
of the places you've been
so you sleep standing up
in a lion's den
and the soles of your shoes
are all worn out from a race
you've been racing yourself
lately and getting no place

but i'll keep quiet
so beautifully silent
these walls are beckoning
bat those sleep ridden eyelids

in your comfortable cove
say the word and i'll go
try to leave you along

i'm going insane
i welcome you to my head
some think i'm lovely
i think, "better off dead."
and for what it's worth
i've been reading old maps
just to get where you were
yeah, just to find where you're at

i broadcast static
with a message encoded
hoping someday you'll hear it
laying stoned by the ocean

those slumbering days
a blanket of waves
i just hope you're okay

asleep in my bed
picturesque in my head
hope to see you again
