It's a good album, but it didn't even come close to Cities. It compares to NTFP, though.

In short... Anberlin's image and lyrics are about giving glory to God, but a good friend of mine was their guitarist for a hot minute and left the band because they were full of shit. Living a decadent rock star life, treating women like objects, things you'd expect from a Sunset Strip band but not a band claiming to be doing what they do for God. I'm no saint, but I think they are full of it, basically.

This is a tough choice. If this was before Anberlin released New Surrender i would've choosen them in a heartbeat. but The Killers have stayed consistantly good throughout their career in my opinion. I may not follow them religiously, but I like a good amount of their songs. They are very full of themselves, but whatever.

Anberlin on the other hand has become sort of a letdown. Their first thee albums were great. After Cities was released, I thought they were going places. But I guess it didn't turn out that way. Probably because they focused so hard on that song about the cablecar and none of their other badass tracks. Then all of a sudden they decided to add one part hippie and two parts generic and came out with New Surrender. I'm all for bands trying new things and evolving their style, but that album just didnt do it for me.

Anberlin has constantly put out good releases, and is hard to find a truly "bad" song. The Killers have better hit songs, but some of their stuff is truly terrible.

I couldn't care less about who says what... but... it was about how they lived their lives. Facless International is great, their public image is great. I just hope they've changed what lead my friend away from performing with them, that's all.

Dismantle Repair is mediocre at best. Fin is an incredible song, but the Killers have their fair share of those (Why Do I Keep Counting, This River is Wild, All These Things That I've Done). None have the "epic" scope of Fin, (though Keep Counting is epic in a different way), but their first two albums are far far better (imo) than any Anberlin album.
