i used to be a christian, and just this past summer i went to conerstone, it's this huge christian music festival (we're talking well over 200 signed bands/performers, not to mention the hundres and hundreds of unsigned bands that set up their own stages) in the middle of a cornfeild in southern Illinois and i saw mewithoutyou twice and it was the most powerful show i've ever been to. i agree, they are an amazing band! I've made my decisions about the christian faith somewhat recently, but i hold a certain respect for people that have the stamina for that lifestyle, but i can't agree with much of any of the beliefs anymore-- whole long personal story i won't get into, but anyways, other bands that i saw there that were amazing:
UNDEROATH
Norma Jean
Zao
Dead Poetic
eso-charis
FSF
Unwed Sailor
sleeping at last
the Lindsey diaries
starflyer 59 (didn't see them, but they are good)
Duvall (didn't see tham @cornerstone, but they play a lot of shows in chicago)
Slow Coming day (okay)
twothirtyeight (okay)
living sacrifice
Narcissus
the elms
embodyment (okay)
-- there were a lot more that i don't remember, but these were all incredibly powerful performaces, it was an amazing experience. I'm going back this year just for the musical aspect. Hopesfall will be playing and they are one of my favorite bands so that is pretty cool.

Five Iron is one of the greatest bands ever, if not the greatest ska band ever. Relient K is a group of super cool guys and Ace Troubleshooter puts on the most amazing live show. I saw them with MeWithoutYou. Crazy action, but I'm not big fan of MWY. They have a powerful live show, but its not my kind of band and I was right at the guy's feet.

word to that. The Specials basically rule all ska. and Madness.

ya he's one of the better aspects of that band. man i used to love them. i still think they're cool, im just not that excited about pop-punk anymore.

238 puts on a very solid show. they aren't too energetic or anything, their music is really mellow. but they sound great, and they have a great vibe if you will. mewithoutyou is definetely a great live band. they write some reasonably interesting music, too, which is always nice nowadays. umm, who else.....Pedro The Lion is extremely talented (altho whether he is 'christian' or not is often up for debate). Squad Five-O is fantastic live and their last album was pretty decent. Vroom is awesome. Calibretto 13 is fun. Blindside is cool. They border on nu-metal, but they're one of the better bands out there getting radio play.

thats all ill put now cause im tired. just know, please stay away from all of these new Tooth and Nail bands that all sound like they are just trying to be FSF and The Juliana Theory.
